Saturn version is quite good, but there are better shooters.
It is MUCH more fun if you can play it in vertical screen mode (TV on side), IMO.

I much prefer Kyu Tiger 1 over 2, its one of my favourite PC-Engine shooters.
I can't quite put my finger on WHY though, Tiger 2 just doesn't have the right feel that great shooters have, if you know what I mean...

Yes, it seems better on PC-ENGINE(1 that is.)The second one is sort of a rip off, so if i were you I would try it on PC-ENGINE.

KTII is not bad at all. It's a port of an F3 game. so there are a few raster effects. The Tate mode is the way to play.

It is a tad shorter than the original KT (the Toaplan game has 10 levels rather than 6) but I like it still. The stars appreciate in value up to 10,000 until you get shot down. You can reach full power quicker (it takes just several powerups). Save up enough bombs, and you end up with Hyper Bombs becoming available.

Both rate about the same in my book. Although it's a Takumi game, it's quite different from their more recent fare (no RF or Mosquito). Rapidly tapping the button boosts your fire a bit as in Blazing Star.

Gekirindan is actually awesome on the Taito F3 system. Too bad Virgin cocked up the Saturn port.
