I usually agree with most things you like, but I never got into the SegaCD at all. I really dont know why, just never appealed to me. What games would make me change my mind? I have played a few, but not enough. I have a CDX w/ Sonic CD and Final Fight. Those are the only 2 I ever got.
I was a MEGA-CD player for a while (Sept'93-Feb'94).
I remember these great games:
Final Fight CD
Sonic CD
Silpheed
Wolfchild (not that great, but it was my first purchase).
Ok for one the original U.S. SegaCD was NOT lousy. I have my original one I bought when it 1st came out*The Front Loader* and I have enjoyed it to death.
2ndly It's a difference of opinion. Not all the U.S. SegaCD games were bad.
Snatcher
Shining Force CD
Lunar
Lunar Eternal Blue
Sonic CD
Ecco
Ecco Tides of Time
Eye of the Beholder
Robo Alesta
Batman Returns
Spiderman
Popful mail
Vay
Stellar Fire
Granted the MegaCD has some killer stuff also but calling the SegaCD lousy is just wrong. <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">
Even though we do have some good titles (Snatcher, Shining Force, etc) but I miss the great cover art.....plus US companpies love to alter the content (Working Designs....gggrrrrr)
I too am into Sega CD. The system never really took off but it did ok. There were quite a few good games as Bonus mentioned so it is definitly worth owning IMO.
