stored on my DVD shelf since i bought them.

If it makes you feel any better, I just recently did the same thing (sold over 400 console and PC games in one month), and I feel great now. The first few days I was a little sad to have seen so much go, but I look at what I haven't even played yet from the last 15 years, and what's coming out soon, and there just isn't time to worry about those titles you've already played. Hope that makes sense.

And there's something nice about having some extra money to play with, and knowing that your old games are making many people happy, and thinking that some of those people may have never played them before.

And hey, with very, very few exceptions - everything's replaceable!

UPDATE! I just received Duke Nukem: Duke it out in DC in the mail today. That really shows how NOT i thought i'd be selling these. So close to completing the Duke Nukem collection! Expect pics soon.


Post has gone through a major face lift! Lots of pics and i'm sure i'll run out of room to add much more before i'm done with it. Thank god i have the next thread to edit when needed.

Everything is still up for sale as i've been hoping for someone to buy the lot.. Wishfull thinkin i guess. I didnt buy all these at once and i expect someone to dish out that much cash for it all? hehe

I'll be spending the next few hours working hard to get the rest of the pics of the box contents that i havent already posted yet. prob wont get them uploaded on the site till tomorrow late.

I may be tempted to sell a few off if the quanity is large enough.. Though i expect to open this baby up for single purchases by the weekend.. prices listed and all.

P.S. Thanks for the kind words and advice unplanned.. I understand but its still gona be hard to sell these. I mean all the memorys and my past are here for sale.. Wolfenstein 3D was the very first PC game i ever seen over at my buddies house. Ran out and bought my first ever computer soon after. That was my first PC game! Duke Nukem 3D was the first ever multiplayer online game i ever played with my old friend.. Dialup to eachother house! Was a freakin blast! Quake/Quake2 was my first love and first serious experiance playing online.. That game online made me get off my but and learn the insides and outs of computer and lead me to build my first ever computer.. And so on. Tons of meaningfull memories tied into those old games.

Hell when i first started collecting PC games, i thought this was the best thing i've ever collected cause you dont only just look at them on a shelf.. you can also play them! It was a win, win.. Besides i really love the old style LARGE boxes from the past. Great colors and graphics! Never thought i'd be selling these.

How much are you expecting to pull in for this lot? Maybe I'm out of touch, but I've never had, nor have I seen anyone have, much luck in selling PC games for "collectors' " prices. It's always struck me that, in general, console games will beat out PC games every single time when it comes to collectible market resale. This is an awesome collection (and one I certainly wouldn't mind having on my shelves), but I'm not entirely confident that you'll get the big bucks that it's all worth to you, fueled further by the obviously overwhelming sentimentality. Big boxes, lots of them, a pain to ship, and potential buyers know that. And they're also not going to pay an average of $10-$20 a game.

This may be the opposite end of the advice spectrum than you were expecting, but you ought to keep these. I've been through this many times (and am doing so again right now with a different hobby) where a little extra cash would go a lot further than storing more collectibles. What I've learned from past mistakes is that you should sell what you can readily get back, what means the least sentimentally, and what will bring in the quickest and biggest bang for your selling effort. You're clearly in love with this collection and my speculation is the return on selling it all is not going to do you a whole lot of good relative to what you'll feel like you are losing. My advice? Keep the PC collection, sell the Wii on eBay or Craigslist. Anyone will buy that, you'll probably get more than you would for this PC collection, it's one small item, and you WILL be able to get a Wii anytime you want in the future. Dump the HD collection - those will all be in the bargain bin a couple of years from now. You want those sealed expansion packs in the future? Tough luck is my guess.

If you still decide to sell this collection, then I hope you get what you think it's all worth. Unfortunately, I think sentimentality may distort the market rates on these - especially in one bulk lot. Good luck.

Thanks for the advic but i think i'll make out a whole lot better then a $200 dollar Wii system. These games are just as collectable as the console games and i'm sure some are rarer. Yes, sooner after the game releases they go down in price just like they do with the console games. But ya got to rememer that PC games back when were not released in the numbers that console games are released in.

I was like you when i first started looking into buying up some PC games.. I thought, no one collects PC games they gota be cheap. Did some searching and found out they sell for a hell of alot more then i thought. Theres lots of titles that sell for $50+ $100+ 300+. Hell, i've seen someone pay $125 for just a bare CD in a sleave.

Its just like anything.. theres some that are more popular and more collectable then others.

Also theres people selling these that no nothing about there value and sell them cheap.. which i'm sure is the same for many things out there.

I only have a few expensive games.. and i bought most of those at those high prices.

Definitely don't hurry selling these. PC games from that era, in that condition are nearly impossible to find. There aren't a lot of collectors, but the few that exist will go nuts if they find your sales thread.

I don't know any good PC game collecting forums, but I would suggest searching around. Don't be in a hurry to sell these, some one will come along at some point with a big offer.

I'm not a huge PC collector right now (although I really want a lot of this stuff, especially the early '90s stuff, I'm just collecting console stuff right now) but I'm going to try and pass your thread along to any serious PC collectors I find.

Seriously this is one of the coolest threads I've seen on the internet, you rarely see this stuff in this condition. The Hexen / Heretic collection alone has me drooling!

It is probably the best RPG ever made..... I should have bought it years ago, if you like RPGs, you should get a copy and see for yourself.

I avoid ebay like the plague....
