I hope they do a
decent job of making the movie. For it to be a great film, would be asking too much.
Expect to see the worst....then be pleasantly surprised when it's just OK. That's my motto when it comes to video games turned into movies.
Inevitably I'm sure the following blunders will occur during the movie:
*
All the characters are wearing costumes similar to their video game counterparts for the entire movie. While I might appreciate seeing Mai in her customary costume at some point in the movie, it would just be cheesy for the duration of the film.
*
The film producers will make an effort to include EVERY single KOF character ever known...in the story line...or just in the background. Just pick a few heroes and a few villians; make a good movie first....save a few characters for the sequel.
*
Special moves will be reduced to one of of two categories 1) the film maker will avoid all special moves that defy physics or reality, or 2) the special effects for all moves will be EXTREMELY low budget. If you're going to make this movie, make it right....have a budget for special effects. See Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, see Harry Potter....both defy physics and both were block buster hits.
*
Neo-Geo Land will be in the background for one of the major fight scenes of the movie. Hey, I want a good movie that can be enjoyed by the masses, not a collage of obscure references that only KOF fanatics can appreciate.
Cynical I know, I just can't stand corny movies.
