I will talk to him this afternoon , I am going over to his house later { he lives about 20 minutes away } I will drag my camera and see if we can shoot some picks ? I will let you guys know tonight whats going on.

For the record I have never been able to see mine very well either , unless its in almost direct light , then as Wasabi said it reflects so badly you cant see anything.

I did however get spoiled by the Atari Lynx and its backlit screen.

i ve seen a back lite ngp on ebay ages ago.
i dont remember who sold it. but it had a description
similar to what chris r writes.
anyways.
anyone ever see the back lit gb pockets?
it has indiglo technology so its bw that you
can toggle between on and on with the indiglo
i was wondering how possible it would be to do that
with the first generation NGps

You're thinking of the Game Boy Light. It'd require a specially made LCD screen in order to fix a Pocket up like that. You couldn't retrofit it.

Ok I talked to my friend , but we couldnt do it today, when I got to his house he was leaving for the evening.

He told me he would be more than happy to meter out the solder points over the weekend.

I will get some pics up on my site sunday night.

I will post here when they are up and give you guys the run down on them.

also please make sure to ask him if he had to put that special filter shield on top of the NGPC screen, like you need to do for the GBA.

And ask him if he wants to open a business doing this for the fans. I bet he could make some good dough as the NGPC mod.

Thanks!

Lynx and GameGear's backlite only seemed to wash out the colors on the screen, IMO. The best backlit system by far was the TurboExpress. It had a perfectly lit screen with zero washout, but it damn sure ate the shit out of batteries. As for the Afterburner GameBoy Advance, I have had bad luck with them myself, could have been a bad install though, I don't know. Does anyone here have an AfterBurner GameBoy Advance that looks good, ie. no washout, excess dust etc.. I had mine done from Lik-Sang, and it didn't turn out good at all, I sold it and now just stick with the worm light.

Only problem my friends GBA w/ Afterburner is he dident set the screen totaly perfect, on the bottom left hand corner there is a little black line where u can see the screens not totaly right. Havent seen dust problems though with it or wash out. By the way he is not a proffessional and dosent know much about saudering, all he did was follow the given instructions.

Sounds good to me. If your friend wants to sell it, let me know. ;) I'd pay $150 for him to mod one of my NGPC for me. Especially if he could do it to my slimline.

Yes it does . I actually spoke to him today ,bare with me here, huhh

Odly enough he didnt get his Afterburner , I dont know whats happening there ?

I kind of got on him today about getting this done , since I am now looking like an ass , saying we are going to do it and not coming through for you guys !

I ragged on him pretty good and he wants to do it on a week night , Im going to explore around on mine with my volt ohm meter and see what I can find voltage wise , so far the hardist part has been getting that damn Y shaped screw out of it.

I drilled the head off of mine , just be very carefull , I will put a few pics up in a minute of it apart for you guys , check here http://groups.msn.com/myneogeoandohtergames/_homepage.msnw?pgmarket=en- us

Some pics up , im going to take some better more detailed photos in the morning , and try to figure out the voltage leads with my brother, he used to be a tech so it should be no problem there , I will reply here when I get home and put them up.

Yup everything on the page is mine.
I dont ride the Proflex much anymore , actually I havent ridden the GSXR much in the last 4 months or so either. Im having shoulder surgey in another couple of weeks and hopefully after that is taken care of I will be able to ride both of them a bit more.
So I was digging around in my NGPC tonight and it would be incrediably easy to solder in a couple of clear light LED's.
There is plenty of room for them and the hookup should be very straight forward.
I may go ahead and do this tomorrow at my brothers house and see how well it works , as far as the Afterburner goes it should be pretty simple as well minus grinding out a hole for the dimmer.

Cool! I ride a proflex too but not so much now too. Too much, too much neo, no time for any thrashing.

Hey, your back shock snap b4?
