PAD vs JOYSTICK

Joysticks are the way to go for most fighters. Especially fighters where you have to press 2 buttons to execute specials or fierce moves. It's difficult to mash two buttons with your thumb on the pad, and not always accurate.

The thing is, I can't find a console joystick (other than the Neo) that I can get comfortable with. I love the arcade joysticks, but I have yet to try one for the console that I can get comfortable with such as those.

I find it a bit hard to choose between sticks and pads.

With a joystick, you need to use your whole fist to make the move, as opposed to using a thumb on a controller.

I think they are pretty equal, but with a pad you can use more buttons easily (getting your fingers on eight joystick buttons?), and alternate between 'sticks' (PS2, Xbox, GC) with ease.

Sticks - great for 6 button fighters.
Pads - Great for games like Tony Hawk, drivng games.
Mouse/Keyboard - best for 1st/3rd Person shooters
