Just wondering out of the Three SNK controllers, which one do you like best?

1. The original large stick.
2. The compact kidney shaped stick.
3. The neo geo cd pad.

I perfer the the kidney shaped stick for its compact size. The d-pad on the cd pad feels too loose and the original is a little too large.

I prefer the Mac off of the original Beast Busters cab. Not really. OG AES stick all the way.

There has been a long-running consensus in the online Neo community for the original stick, and I agree with it.

Although when I did finally try the new style stick it was better (more solid) than I thought it would be. The stick is fine, but the buttons are a little flaky.

Original stick, no question. The pad is nicer than I would have expected though.

I don't like none of the original neo sticks. Give me a massystems or
custom made joystick instead. I do like the pad though.

I dunno, I quite like the pad.

I liked the PS2 pad version with the six button layout - unlike the PS2 Neo-Geo stick the extra buttons are all equally sized and spaced, so it's great for Capcom games as well.

Saturn pad for the win though, I had a friend who modded a Saturn pad for the Neo. It was perfect for SS1.

no, the cd pad is awful , end of story

the stupid replacement for a dpad they gave it is so undeniably wank for fighters, I merely lol'd at it. its only good for puzzlers and shooters maybe, and even then the stick is a thousand times better.

its horrible, and nearly the worst pad ever made

I love the original old-style, best standard stick for a system ever IMO, and it's sturdy as hell, I still use the original one from the early 90s which came with my Neo homecart system and it still works perfectly.

However, I hate the kidney-shaped one, it's too small and tends to fall off my lap when playing fighters. The stick also is not tight enough, there's too much "give", almost feels like the DC arcade stick (green buttons), which is very good for shmups and stuff like that but almost unuseable for fighters, at least for me.

The CD pad is very nice and accurate to use but not as sturdy as one would expect from SNK hardware, specially the D-pad (although clicky) tends to wear out a tad bit too soon. I had to replace micro switches in two of them already.

Neo Geo Pad 2 for PS2. Perfection.

what the hell - perfection?

I am guessing my used neocd's pad was really , really old and broken here, because I found the pad completely unusable for anything except some shooters.

The stick on the old style is one of the best sticks ever, very precise, very short travel, sturdy. A little masterpiece which is not surprising since it's made by Seimitsu. The buttons on the other hand are squeaky and the layout is silly. And the joystick as a whole is a bit too light, you need to keep it on your lap because on a table it will move too much (unless you glue it to the table).

You're thinking of a totally different controller.

I think they did away with the fulcrum from the first one.

108 key Microsoft keyboard

Xbox controller

In all seriousness (and before too short shoots me in the face) I love the old school neo stick.
