I just got my X-RGB2+ and hooked it up to my Neo via the RGB cable, but the XRGB doesn't seem to recognize the signal and says NONE INPUT. However, I can see an image. The image is scrolling like mad and is in red and black unfortunately. It's not the cable either, as I've hooked up my PS2 with a different cable to that same input and get the same result.

I do get it to work when I hook it up with standard A/V cables, but naturally doesn't look very pretty.

Can anyone who has an XRGB please help me?

Make sure your game port is set to rgb instead of component. You can find that off the menu screen.

Yep, it's set correctly. Unfortunately, that input just died on me :( . I get a black screen and the menu won't even come up when it's on RGB input. The monitor just goes to standby as well like the device isn't sending any output, so I think my XRGB is faulty. I'm going to try and get it exchanged.

No problem. I got it from NCSX. They've been very helpful so far and have offered to exchange it. I sent it to them this morning.

What cable are you using? I'm sure you already know this, but make sure its not an european Scart cable.

Yeah, Tiptonium pointed that out to me too. How can you tell the difference between an RGB cable and a SCART one? I think that that may be my problem....

But the RGB input did die on me too, so it could be that that was faulty to begin with. We'll see when I get my replacement back from NCSX.

Check gamesx.com for the pin configuration of both connectors.
Where did you get your cable from? If you got your cable from Lik-Sang or some other Korean import houses, then more likely than not you got a Scart cable. If thats the case, then let me know and I can direct you to somebody that can custom make cables for pretty much any console(at a better price than NCSX) or just follow the gamesx guide and rearrange the pin configuration to match the Japanese RGB connector.

Wow! Thanks. I actually got the cable from a member of this board. I'm getting another one, so we'll see how that goes. Thanks for your help though. If this doesn't work I probably will come calling for you again :) .

Man, look what you did to your XRGB!!!!

From NCSX news 6/27:
"Re: XRGB-2+ upscan converter. Please be aware that SCART RGB cables are not compatible with this product. Don't use them. We've had to repair a number of XRGB-2+ units with fried RGB ports these past few weeks. Apparently, some clueless vendors are selling SCART RGB cables as JAPANESE RGB cables." <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[LOL]" />
