I like the old style sticks the best. The new CD one's are great, but the classic one just seems to fit me best. The contollers are nice too, but I still go for the original joy stick. How about you folks?

I use neo cd joypad but I prefer the original ones. The only problem is that they are very expansive

I very rarely use the original stick, and mostly only for shooting or puzzle games. I use a modified saturn joypad for fighting games.

In Neo Geo I prefer the old stick, but from other systems I like the Dreamcast controller.

I prefer the MAS controller over all.....next is the old school Neo controller....as far as pads.....nothing has been able to dethrone the Saturn pad......

I try to use the old style joystick for fighting games, but I get a better rhythm going with the controller.

I use the Neo stick for all of my own games; I do not possess any CD controllers, but I do use them on Metal Slug games, puzzle games, and on Nam 75 when I visit Neo owning friends.

I use the Agetec arcade stick on 61% of my DC games.

I'm also fond of the PSX/PS2 controller (more because of familiarity than function). I find the arcade sticks for DC and PSX/PS2 to be very cumbersome. The only arcade stick I can handle is the Neo Geo's, as I said before.

I use the MAS stick all the time then my 2nd choice would be the old style controller!

I use the old style Neo joysticks since those are the only ones I have!
With video games in general, the only time you'll see me using a joystick is when I'm at an arcade and using the Neo joysticks was a big change for me. I'm slowly getting used to them, but the way they position the buttons can really hurt your hand after awhile. The joystick itself isn't that bad though and using a joystick makes the game more challenging, IMO.
I am thinking about getting the new style joystick a few months down the road and I want to ask everyone that owns both styles: which works better for you: the old style stick or the new one? To me, the new one may not be so uncomfortable due to the button placement.

I got

4 old-style sticks
1 new-style
2 CD Pad controllers

and the new-style and pads collect dust
whereas the 4 old-styles keep rotating to minimize wear.

I use the oldstyle sticks. They're the best in my opinion.
The newer ones are also quite good, but a bit too small.
As I don't like using joypads for fighting games I also don't like the CD pad. It's of good quality and one of the best pads ever made, but not very useful for me. But it has been a wise decision by SNK to use a similar technoligy in the NGPC

Yeah, the NGPC stick is the best stick I ever have played on handhelds, it's so smooth and, well, clicky. I like these microswitch sounds, reminds me of my good ole' competition pro. KoF R2 and this stick, and all skills are mine!

I don't have an old style controller, but two CD pads and one new style. The pads are cool, best pads around, but I mostly use my stick, specially for fighting games. Could be a bit heavier, tho.

Btw., I like the DC controller, too, except for the Y and Z buttons. Playing SFA3 or any other 6button fighter with it sucks big time.

I think playing fighting games with a pad just takes the challenge out of the game. I've mastered so many fighting games with joypads that it's pathetic. I like the button format on the new style joystick. Your right hand isn't so crooked when you're hitting the buttons. Judging by the photos I saw, at least.

i think that all pads in general kinda suck. sticks are always better.

I like the old style neo sticks, they work nicely. i have two of them. i used to use the CD pad, but i like the old style stick better.

the joypads are kinda limited, it's somewhat difficult to do combos with them and they make you "arcade incompatible" to some extent.

I use the old rectangular stick for fighting games, and contorl pad for non-fighters, if your hands are smaller, the pads are better for Metal Slug and Magical Drop as the bottons are closer together.

Difference between old joystick and controller pro (round)? The rectangular stick feel more comfortable and more stable when you move, on the other hand, the controller pro (round stick) is more responsive than old one but not very stable on intense fighting actions.

My fav is the old style stick for any game. I don't care that it takes up a lot of room, it just seems more comfortable.
