Ultimate Joystick. I prefer the US style stick, and this is the best one, IMHO. Check out the pics in the sig, it's all Ultimate Joysticks and Ultimate Pushbuttons. I'm very happy with them!

Peace

Personally, I use the Competition stick/buttons combo on my cab. I definately prefer the Competition buttons over the Ultimate, but I may be switching to the Ultimate stick (or at least trying it out). The only difference, to my knowledge, is the size. Competition sticks stand taller out of the cab than the Ultimate does.

The Ultimate buttons are smaller and have that concave style to them, just doesn't feel right to me. The Competition buttons are larger and have the "dome" look of your standard console controller. Much better in my opinion.

So I recommend the following:

Ultimate joysticks.
Competition buttons.
The 1P and 2P Competition "Start" buttons for that classy look. <IMG SRC="smilies/tickled.gif" border="0">

I go with the Ultimates, don't really like the looser Competitions.

Do the Ultimate or Competition Joysticks fit on a Jap sitdown MVS 25" cab? Also, the microswitches I have in my cab are 16A250VAC, the silvers they are selling are 10A250VAC, does it make any difference? Im thinking about changing to Happ controls, but Im afraid they would be incompatible with my setup...any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Both buttons I beleive will fit. I think the hole is the same size. The ultimate buttons are much nicer IMO. They have a click to them that the comps dont have.

If your using it for fighting games Competitions are the best stick there is, period.

If your going to be playing any other type of games and no fighters, go Ultimates.

The reason I don't like Ultimates for fighters is because they are tight as HELL, if you ever played on a MAS Supergun stick that had Ultimates, you literally will be throwing the stick around the room when you try and pull off motions.

The joysticks will not fit Juan. Standard Competition buttons will fit in the 8 player holes, but you will have to experiment with the 3 start and select buttons. Competition/Ultimate buttons will not fit there (holes are too small). Also, the joysticks will not function properly because the holes in the control panel overlay for the MVS 25 are too small to allow for full movement of the stick. You will also need to drill new holes in the plastic base of the joystick so you can mount it to the supplied panel.

I'm in the process of making my own control panel to replace the original one to allow for a HAPP setup, new design and more room for the two players. If you have access to the right tools, you can always modify the original panel to allow for the setup you want.

Alright, thanks for the info Feelgood! So now my question is, where could I get a joystick that would fit properly without me having to tinker with the control panel? My main concern right now is the joystick, since Im very happy with the operation of the buttons.
Thanks again!
