Look familiar to anyone?
Look familiar to anyone?
KOF_FANATIK:
did u sell that to shawn?
How enlightening. Thanksjeff_mangum:
Nope. But someone on this board did.
Perhaps not the game.VanillaThunder:
I played this again last night. Some teammates from my rugby team came over and were blown away that I had a Neo.
We popped in Metal Slug.. it was cool when they were so impressed with it. We had a blast with it... but while I was playing it.. I realized.
THIS GAME IS NOT WORTH 2000 DOLLARS.
At all.
Yeah, it's really fund and cool.. but it's just not worth it!
Sorry to stray a bit.. but seriously..Metal Slug fever is running out of control.
I guess I agree with you, it's a lot like a lot of other areas of collecting and antiquing.. Whether you want it as a status symbol, completeness of a collection or whatever..EvilWasabi:

But the homecart? Yes, it is. Because people are willing to pay that much for a mint copy of the homecart. The same way a scan of spiderman #1 can be downloaded for free, but the comic itself in mint condition costs $26,000. Why does it cost that much? Think about it.
Even more interesting to me.EvilWasabi:
Interesting. Glad Robert managed to sell it finally.
OWN3D!!!!11Shawn:
>> I sold that to Robert, and that insert is faded. The copy in question is the one in the middle.
Imagine that. The copy that is directly in front of your camera’s flash seems to be of slightly lighter colors, quite deceptive indeed. Notice at the very bottom of the middle cart the flash creates an illusion of massive wear & whitening.
Item # 278 in the Neo Store is not sun faded. The yellows are deep, not light. The reds are dark, not pink. No sun fading or signs of whitening are evident on this particular Japanese Slug insert.
>> I would have thought that for so much money one would at least be getting top-calibre descriptions.
The detailed description is 50 (FIFTY) words long and is concerned only with the item’s condition. Come to think about it, that’s the longest description of a home cart’s condition on the Neo Store.
Question: When is the last time you recall a customer complaining about a purchase of a home cart from the Neo Store that was below its advertised condition?
I grade quite meticulously, and of course for a high end item such as Slug 1 extra care and effort is invested when drafting a description.
I'd agree 100% with that. If I can say anything, it's that I've never been disappointed with something I bought from the neostore.Shawn:

And just imagine this: I had 3 copies side by side and compared them all in person. Camera flash may have accentuated the fading but not created it. I even compared the spine of that copy to another Metal Slug, two RIGHT BESIDE each other, and there was a colour difference.Shawn:

Oh I can think of someone who had some negative comments about his Neo Store purchase, or perhaps it was a non-store purchase from you. In any case, one could apply your argument to many sellers for the simple reason that most responsible people will make a private complaint to the seller should the need arise, not whine out in the open like a child.Question: When is the last time you recall a customer complaining about a purchase of a home cart from the Neo Store that was below its advertised condition?
Eugh... If you didn't pick up on it, Criterionradiohead was making a joke about the stupidity of this argument to begin with.Neo Bomber Man:
And Criterionradiohead, way to look stupid.
Isn't this what the whole AES thing is about... collecting? If your going to spend $2000 just to "Play" a cart.... get drugs quick. Go and buy 4 MVS Cabnets and put a different Metal Slug in each one. It will cost about the same....not really much to worry about as long as you were buying the game to play, not as a collector piece with turning a profit at some later point
