Ok this is my problem:
I have a older six slot to begin, and
when I play one game for a long time, over an hour or so,then switch to another sometimes the sound does'nt work on the other slots after selecting another game.Is my machine dying?!?!
I hope not!
So I turn it off and back on and it has sound.
Any suggestions,prognosis?

no I don't think its the carts,or are you talking about the actual conecters on the board?

Ok now it does'nt have sound when it's running through the demos!
NOOOOOOO!

It's colder than ice where my cabinet is could this be a problem?Well maybe not that cold but it's in a garage, and the sodas in the garage are cold enough to drink....

This all started when it started cold..
I am gonna run it all day then turn it off then back on and see if it then works.

I have the same problem with my cab!
If i don't play to it, there is no sound. The first one is when I put the money in.

Robert:You have the attract mode sound turned off. You need to go into the bios and set HARDWARE DIP -> DEMO SOUND 'set up in each game'. The in Soft dip -> game -> set demo sound to "with"

Naomi: You have the cab in a (probably) too cold place... the cart slot is made of plastic and small metal contacts, that will shrink when they get colder..

Its your cabs saying "Dont leave us out in the cold you heartless bastards"!

Hey, if someone left you out in the cold for days on end, could guarantee to still perform? <IMG SRC="smilies/spock.gif" border="0">

The cart tracks may be clean, the 60 pin pcb socket is equally as important. clean it gently with some switch cleaner on a toothbrush. This will fix your problem.
Or Ill be a monkeys uncle !
