What happened to our idea of a high scores database/forum?

I know that a lot of us had thought it was a good idea and even Shawn agreed. Is anything going to become of this?

Well a forum is out of the question.
We have a gameplay forum for that.
I could do an actual web-page where you could
submit scores, but there's no much interest.
Hosted on site of course.

If I get at least 20-50 people with interest
then I'll proceed and work on it, otherwise
I am not wasting my time.

Thank You,

Jorge

Hey Jorge,

Well I posted a few months ago about it and there seemed to be a lot of interest.

I *think* that Shawn had said it would be ok to have a link on the left to a high scores page. Shawn, I'd rather not speak for you though :)

Also, we would have to have some kind of criteria for PROVING the scores.

Otherwise, I think it would be great and would renew our interest in some of the games we don't play much anymore.

I asked Shawn about this before, he said that if
I create a high scores page and it becomes
popular, then we can add it to the nav bar...

I am very interested in doing this, but I need
peoples' interest otherwise I'd be wasting my
time you know.

There's a thread like this in gameplay which
will get the link in a second.

I have also started a Metal Slug X high scores
thread <a href="http://www.neo-geo.com/cgi-local/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=001450#000000" target="_blank">http://www.neo-geo.com/cgi-local/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=001450#000000</a>

Nice Jorge. I didn't know it had so much progression.

I look forward to see what you create.

the proof is in the pudding

screen shots are the only way, however when u use to have to send high score screen shots to atari 90 percent of the time you couldnt see a thing.

In all fairness though who wants to see what other peoples high scores are on beat em ups, i dont look at the score when i play, i just try to win with losing as least rounds as possible as score doesnt matter to me,

maybe on sports games or shoot em ups as then ppl will want to try to beat the scores.

Well I'm sure that there are a lot of people who don't even know the thought exists.

If there ends up being an actual database of sorts, I can see it catching on. I know a few people that would be interested that aren't on your list too.

I mean, you've got 15 listed and that's from limited exposure. That's not bad.

Oh, ^^^ and using a digital camera you can upload instantly and see the scores no problem.
