SNK is full of mystery..........
This SNK-G also bothers me for years...........what does "G" stand for???
Stands for "Gaijin" that's why they made the carts white.
Sorry for the necrobump. Does anyone actually know for sure what the SNKG stands for? I was just looking on google and all I found was this topic and one on racketboy claiming they were rental carts.
Who would have rented MVS carts though? The arcades?
to me G is for GASHI (rental, you d write gashi and not kashi after kikaku)
SNKG: 新日本企画貸し
Gh3Y
SNK-Giga - This doesn't make sense though, since most G games pre-date the Gigachip.
SNK-Game - Hmmmmm, maybe, but it can't be that simple, can it?
Les cartouches de couleur blanche marqu馥s SNKG sont des cartouches de location (ォ G サ de SNKG pour gashi en fran軋is location)
Try this one for a size:
Apparently, even Shito didn't know that... back then at least.
Other funny stuff...
Maybe SNKGals, cause they wanted to attract more of them to play video games through rental? Hence pearl white .
Edit: Not that it matters, but a French Wiki offers the same info (4th par.)...
Here are all of them carts listed: http://www.neogeosoft.com/?section=mvs_rental
