A lot of my Japanese carts are white. Most of my US ones are black. The later ones, though, are usually one of the translucent colors. I like the green translucent the best. I think my MSX is like that.

I had like 30 of those white SNKG carts, all Japanese ones. I asked this question awhile ago and no one could answer it. I hope that someone can answer this question this time. <IMG SRC="smilies/glee.gif" border="0">

I have had a few. My ZedBlade is in the white SNKG cart. The majority of my carts are black.

I heard a rumor it's the carts SNK exploited in the Neogeo lands in Japan.
Another rumor said they were reeditions...
But I think this is of interest...
I have a white/gray US LB2 and just sold a white japanese RBS with the "G"
To be continued...

Sorry for the necrobump. Does anyone actually know for sure what the SNKG stands for? I was just looking on google and all I found was this topic and one on racketboy claiming they were rental carts. Who would have rented MVS carts though? The arcades?

I always thought they were rental carts as well. I have no idea what the G stands for, though

I guess the arcades would have to see if it was good earner before buying it. Capcom had a rental system with the CPS2 as well, so it wouldn't have been a unique system in that respect.

Try this one for a size:

to me G is for GASHI (rental, you d write gashi and not kashi after kikaku)
SNKG: 新日本企画貸し

Apparently, even Shito didn't know that... back then at least.

Other funny stuff...

SNK-Giga - This doesn't make sense though, since most G games pre-date the Gigachip.
SNK-Game - Hmmmmm, maybe, but it can't be that simple, can it?

Maybe SNKGals, cause they wanted to attract more of them to play video games through rental? Hence pearl white ;).

Edit: Not that it matters, but a French Wiki offers the same info (4th par.)...

Les cartouches de couleur blanche marqu馥s SNKG sont des cartouches de location (ォ G サ de SNKG pour gashi en fran軋is location)

Here are all of them carts listed: http://www.neogeosoft.com/?section=mvs_rental
