God dammit that made me laugh.

I wonder how far Bloomberg is going to get with that half a billion he's already thrown into this shit.

Presidential campaigns need money to make it through to the end. Bloomberg doesn’t need to raise a penny.

I don't want to live in a socialist system. I support private corporate ownership, market pricing, and free markets. I believe the role of the government is to protect the social contract between the corporate governors and the workers, and that the role of the government is not to provide for the people. When people are sufficiently provided to, they're disincentived to create.

Imagine playing a game on easy mode, with a faq provided; a regulated and curated experience through what should have been a journey of trial and error.

I'm not sure what our country would look like today if not for FDR's new deal.

I'm a huge fan of individuality and capitalism but if left unchecked capitalism becomes a very disgusting thing.

What inevitably happens every time you play monopoly? One person ends up with everything and everybody else has nothing but bankruptcy and debt. it's what happened in the late 1800's, the thirties and soon to happen again.

How is debt much different than indentured servitude, how is that any different from slavery and how is slavery different from surfdom?

The United States is a mixed economy but still one of the most capitalist on the planet. That could be something to be proud of but..

You know you look at your neighbors and you see that they have it better than you in some ways. You wanna keep up with the Joneses right? If you're intelligent and have some people skills you might ask them how they do stuff. You could learn a thing or two from them and the way they do things or you could keep living like an Amish person in the 70's. Totally up to you.

The rest of the developed world has had universal health and public education for the last 30 years. The rest of the world is working on solutions for sustainability.

I for one believe in the concept of American exceptionalism and I want my country to excel and be in the top of all quantifiable metrics.

You ask these politicians why large chunks of the world are doing better than us and they'll tell you cuz' of socialism. You know what maybe they're right, maybe we need more social programs.

No there's a purpose and a role for government. It's to provide planning and regulation for goods and services that the people can't or are not willing to provide for themselves. They don't want to work though, they just want to kick the can down the road. They just create a caustic environment keeping us fighting among ourselves why they do as little as possible and they plan for their next multi million job peddling influence and diverting our assets to the boyfriends and girlfriends club.

You can call it crony capitalism or what ever you want but it should be evident that the system is broken.

In order for capitalism to succeed there needs to be a system and infrastructure in place. That system is currently deteriorating.

As far as I can see, wealth is currently being redistributed to billionaires and businesses via a regressive tax structure that has the middle class paying a greater percentage of their income in tax than those at the top. If you're fine with the status quo, you're probably benefitting from it or are naively hoping to do so in the future.

Why is it so hard to grasp the idea that government subsidized medical care and education would benefit the country as a whole? It would probably lead to greater social cohesion.

Save the experience of trial and error for when you can actually apply yourself more efficiently.

I don’t mind if the US tries to push a m4a plan, but it won’t from from Bernie, because no one will work with him. How did Romney get it passed in Massachusetts? He’s not an asshole. As long as you’re useful to Bernie’s immediate ends, he’s not an asshole either. Like imagine if Scott Morrison was a lot richer. That’s Bernie. A very rich piece of shit cunt, who has an online army of trolls making memes to stoke his popularity. Won’t get shit done. Will probably hop on a govt funded flight to holiday when the fit hits the shan.

I’m not okay with that, but Bernie won’t fix it. It’s not in his character. He could have been making Vermont into a great state. Guess what? It’s not. He’s a do nothing who has a loud game.

When Bernie reaches across the aisles and builds bridges with other politicians I will change my tune. We don’t elect despots here. We elect tie breakers.

Serious question. Why is Vermont not a great state?
