Is it just me or does it seem to be harder geting hold of Neo Geo stuff in the UK at a reasonable price? eBay is too hit & miss and I don't want pay Raven Games stupidly high prices. So if all you other folks in the UK could point me towards some decent Neo (AES & CD) sellers I'd be greatful.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but you really have to import from USA stores for a good selection of stuff.

Yeah I get most of my carts from a seller in japan, bloody cheap aswell. VGI are very good, Lee( manager ) is a top chap but they don't have many carts for sale at moment he is getting some more soon though.

Yeah I got my Neo Geo CD from there. Mint in the box Front Loader :D They'd sold out of all their Neo carts though, but if it's just that they haven't updated the website then I'll drop them an email and see what they've got in stock.

Well, I don't/haven't actually got a Neo system at the moment (getting supergun and MVS board soon), so I can't say for Neo stuff.

But I have only been taxed for one item. I bought a GBA and 3 games from NCSX when they were first released in Japan, I had to pay £10 before I got it off the bloody postman!

But I've also bought loads of games (DC mostly) and peripherals and stuff from NCSX, a couple of placed in Hong Kong (Lik Sang, DCSLinks) and have never been taxed on that stuff.

I think the import tax thing depends on whether the tax people are happy or not that day as to whether they tax you or not!!!

I will be buying MVS carts though from various importers/exporters from around the globe, so will then find out if Neo stuff tends to be taxed or not, but I don't think it will.

The only reason I suggest importing is cos console/import stores in the UK are absolute shite and overpriced compared to any other in USA/HK and Japan.

Hope this helps you <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" /> <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" /> <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" />

beware of VGI,

they have no respect for neo carts..

they will package them badly, and blame the breakage on you..

I had a flaming match with lee from vgi over email and he absolutely refused to see that my AES snaplock being broken was VGI's fault..

yet I just got a snaplock from the USA, perfect.

hmm

1/ You can ask the seller to write 'personal used items' on the cn22 to hopefully avoid custom charges

or

2/ companies like ncsx actually print out a bogus receipt note for your goods so the value wont exceed the amount you can get charged at

ie/ i bought Biohazard from them, with UPS worldwide the total was 72$ (with memory card and i received the game within 3 days). On the receipt for my game they put the value at 15$, the same happened years ago when i got 5 import dreamcast games with came to around 260$ but they filled out the cn22 with DEMO CD and its value was $35

NCSX rock

elbarto (got your name right this time!)

have you tried <a href="http://www.vektorlogic.co.uk" target="_blank">www.vektorlogic.co.uk</a> ?

They seem to have quite a few MV carts or ask them for what you want. I will definately be buying from them in the future.

I don't know anywhere else.

Have you tried going roung any local arcades and asking them if they have any stuff for sale?

I tried to buy some stuff from Jeff/Vektorlogic a while ago, but he would never reply to my emails.. guess he didn't want my money :(

As for NCS, they have great service and I've ordered loads from them, but their postage costs seem a bit high (comparatively at least). They charge almost $20 for global priority, where most other places only charge about $10.. for non-Neo stuff I prefer Tronix (you can get Fedex shipping for about $20..)

VGI? Only ordered once from them (a Saturn game), but there were no problems there.

No real local arcades so I can't ask them.. None with Neo stuff anyway. :(

I'm currently mulling over the proposition of selling and distributing AES and MVS carts for the UK and Europe.

I've got some contacts in Japan and I can get stuff comparitively cheaply to any current UK seller. Plus you'll cut out the customs and shipping charges. :)

Just need some support. Not interested in doing CD as the market for that is too slow. Ideas will be much appreciated.

Yo tarma, I have seen a few of your auctions on ebay, you have had some well priced games for sale in the past good for you.

I have just started collecting AES games I have a few contacts in Japan and Europe and so far I have been lucky with the prices I have pay for the games.

Maybe I can help you out, also isn't there <a href="http://www.neogeosales.co.uk" target="_blank">http://www.neogeosales.co.uk</a>

they could help you with selling carts etc.

Good idea Tarma

I'm sure you'll do very well out of all the UK and European customers cos they'll save a lot on shipping costs.

Cheers for the feedback so far fellas, much appreciated. :)

I know Frazer has his neo-geo.co.uk site, but no offence Frazer, it's kinda dead in the water.

What i'm talking about here is getting in with the likes of Sun Amusement so I can provide you with new MVS kits, new AES releases etc hopefully at comparable prices to the US. So say, Metal Slug 4 is $295, at the current rate of exchange I could sell for £220. Doesn't save you anything on the cart itself, but what it does save is about £15-20 in shipping and customs charges AND next day delivery.

I'd have to set up a web site and do some advertising in the likes of Edge. so any further ideas and stuff will be much appreciated. <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" />

BTW, my thousandth post. <img src="graemlins/loco.gif" border="0" alt="[Loco]" /> <img src="graemlins/loco.gif" border="0" alt="[Loco]" />

It's a good idea, postage costs from america have always bothered me. Sometimes I am hit sometimes I'm not. Brought my girlfriend a baby heart monitor so she can hear the heart beat of our unborn and it cost 40 dollars + 20 dollars postage and I got hit £20 by the postie on delivery.

A lot of shops like Raven etc.. seem to add a hell of a lot of profit to their sales. USA prices in the UK would be :) a plus from me.

Great idea Tarma. We'd finally get carts for decent prices in the UK and from a great seller too.

Anything that sees us folks in Europe get a decent range of games at a fair price gets my vote! :D
