I just got my Hyper 64 US version (I think).
I don't know which wires to hook up for the +5v.
I have a 4slot dedicated cabinet that has a Peter Chou power supply. I also have the conector for the +5v that came with my Hyper. What color are the +5v lines comming out of the Power supply? How can I identify them?
Is the +5v connector just for the sound?

Also do I need to hook up a -5v line to the MVS harness to get all of this to work?

I am pretty sure I need to hook up the +5v, because when I play Buriki One, I start getting graphic problems after it has been running for about 5min.

If you don't know the answer please try to point me in the right direction.

1. The harness that has the two red wires (+5V) and two black wires (Grnd) are for your main power. The harness with the pink, brown, gray, and black wires are for your stereo sound. If there are two plugs under the JAMMA edge connector on your motherboard then you have a revision 1 board US version I would say.

2. As for the color of the wire comming out of the power supply you will have to look at either a chart on the power supply telling you the color code or look at where the wires are connected to the power suppply it will say what your power outputs are.

3. No the +5V is for the board main power.

4. A -5V line is not nessary.

5. Hook up your +5V harness it is your board main power. Do not leave it unhooked becasue you Hyper will run, but will live a short life and when any Neo dies its never good.

Go to <a href="http://membres.lycos.fr/darkskyz/" target="_blank">http://membres.lycos.fr/darkskyz/</a> and he has a copy of the Hyper's manual that will be very helpful to you. Hope this helps.

Here is an update....

I told you that the Hyper does not need a -5V well I was worng you do need a -5V line. For some reason I put down that it did not require one eventhough I knew it does take a -5V line. The MVS however does not require a -5V line, but adding a -5V line to a harness that an MVS motherboard will run on as well will not affect the MVS at all. The power requirments for the Hyper are +5V DC 10 amp minimum, +12V DC 1 amp minimum, and for -5V DC 1 amp minimum. Sorry bout telling you the wrong info.

I meet all the requirements except, my -5V is only 0.5 amps. Thanks for letting me know I need the -5v line I will hook it up tommorrow.

So my 0.5amp -5V line isn't going to be enough?

Please tell me I don't need to buy another powersupply. <img src="graemlins/help.gif" border="0" alt="[Help]" /> <img src="graemlins/help.gif" border="0" alt="[Help]" />

Check to see what your power supply -5V max amps is on your power supply. It should tell you either on a chart on the power supply or it should be stamped on your power supply. It will be the same place that the power voltages are listed. If you want to double check your power supply amps then just check them with a multi meter. If your power supply max amps for the
-5V is only .5 amps then you will have to get another power supply. Also check to make sure your out puting the proper voltages. Use a multi meter to check. If your not you can adjust them. There will be a red or black knob on the power supply you can use to adjust them.

If you do have to buy a new power supply I recommend buy one from Bob Roberts. <a href="http://www.therealbobroberts.com" target="_blank">www.therealbobroberts.com</a>
