i tried this a few months back with a kraut rock upload thread, and that shit didn't go anywhere. well i'm trying it again, but with all kinds of music. i'll try to upload a few albums every few days or so, and you guys can post your opinions and upload your own albums if you want. also this stuff is bound to be taken off, or the links will expire. i'm going to keep rolling with no re-upping, so get this while you can!

so yeah, lets fucknig do this!

200px-Islands_-_Arm%27s_Way.jpg

Islands - Arm's Way
i haven' t heard this yet but i hear a lot of people saying it was better than their last album, which i wasn't too into. check out that cover art as well, i hope they stock it at walmart!

2416956877_e05bee8ea0_o.jpg

Amon Duul II - Yeti
you should all know these dudes, very early band in the krautrock scene, always amazing. the jams just don't stop flowing.

JPER005CD_300.jpg

The Roots - Best Of
come on, everyone needs a little roots in their life. get the hook up right here

thats it for now, i'll try to make an update every day or so, we'll see how this works out.

alright, one more for today to kick things off. this was record straight from the lp, so it doesn't the best, but it doesn't sound the worst either.

inhour.jpg

Meneguar- The In Hour
this record is going to pretty hit or miss with people, but i love it. i just got it in the mail yesterday and i've listened to it three times already.
here is what their label says:
Switching instruments and experimenting with recording techniques,
Meneguar has cooked up a totally unique(and surprising) record. The In
Hour channels the spontaneity and aesthetics of Swell Maps, the pop
hooks of the Zombies, and lyrical collage of Guided By Voices.
Everything was home recorded at their little Xanadu in Brooklyn, Rear House,
home base to the Woodsist label and the changing roster of Meneguar's
alter egos(Woods, Shepherds). Only six months since their last record, The In Hour
represents a serious departure that still holds true to the band's undeniable pop sensibility.

and this is a pretty small touring band so if you dig it hit up www.fuckittapes.com to get a physical copy.

just bumping the thread so more people see it.

i mean, shit, there is a lot of good free music in this thread.

maybe instead of wasting your time with a pointless comment you should check out some of those jams.

thanks man! i had you in mind when i made this thread, hope you like some of this stuff! i'm trying to put up a lot of different stuff so that pretty much anyone can find an album or two in here they'll dig.

i'll leave you guys with a few more albums tonight for all you dudes up late/early in the night/morning.

41hFOXT75BL._SS500_.jpg

No Age - Nouns
noise/punk rockers that are getting a bit of hype on pitchfork and just signed with sub pop a few months back. i remember these guys playing house shows last year, crazy how the times change. nothing amazing, but its good and loud and fun. good music to pretend you have add.

it's20on20everything.jpg

Akira Kosemura - It's On Everything
japanese dude that will take your mind to different places. he uses a lot of acoustic guitar and piano with minimal beats and electronic clicks along with field recordings. nice and moody, never offending. seriously, get this now before its gone! in my top of the year so far!

seashanties.jpg

High Tide - Sea Shanties & Self-Titled
the first two albums from the late 60s early 70s prog rockers. including a bit of blues, jazz, psych and more these guys were heavy fucking hitters. their first album (sea shanties) is more heavy, and is often called the first progressive metal album. the first album has more violin, with the self-titled having more keyboards. both total jams, get them here!

well thats it for now, soak it in! let me know what you guys think and i'll try to keep posting new albums if there is interest. remember these can and will go down at any time (the internet is serious business) so don't wait to get these!

Sorry I don't have enough time to upload more before I go to work.

bass.jpg

Bassnectar - Mesmerizing the Ultra

http://www.sendspace.com/file/y75xhd

One of my favorite albums of the last couple years. Very psychedelic and dynamic electronic music. Dude's a DJ, I saw him play in Birmingham a few weeks ago, blew my fucking mind.

also seems like this thread won't get any love again, but i'll put up a few more albums later today for anyone that cares.

Pretty much, that album is vastly different than what he does live though. Check out his podcasts, that's more of what you'd expect to hear live. http://bassnectar.libsyn.com/
May I recommend, #0007, Smashers Masher

BTW, I freakin loved Islands and High Tide. Never heard any of their music before, thanks for posting that. I downloaded the other stuff you posted up, just hadn't listened to it yet. Also have some more albums I'd like to upload.

Checked out Bassnectar, been hearing about him heaps lately, a little ghetto for my taste it turns out :\

Some genuinely good tunes on there though.

I have to offer a mix of stuff from Plump DJs.

Noisia is amazing DnB... http://myspace.com/denoisia
check out "Cannonball" first...you'll see why. And those remixes don't do them justice.

Embarrassing URL, but this page has some good tracks http://www.myspace.com/theklaxklowns

I can upload my folders from them if you dig it.

alright it has been a few weeks, or months, or whatever. it doesn't matter. here are five albums of solid jams. if you dig them, buy the cds/vinyl and don't be a dick.

61bBZeJNxOL._SS500_.jpg

Lite - Phantasia
newish instrumental band from tokyo. math rock hooks and pretty crazy drumming. tired genre, yes, but this band is so tight sounding and even dabble in a bit of funk and prog at times. give it a listen, and wait for them to get signed to temporary residence in a few months time.

NewOrderMovementCover.jpg

new order - movement
do i really need to type anything out for this?

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LVGIE3CH

img_1_pr.jpg

rick ross - still hustlin' mix
tons of the boss songs you can't find anywhere else. bump in your whip

http://www.mediafire.com/?xzmpmmwoys1

space_ritual.jpg

hawkwind - space ritual
we all know this band, and if you don't you should. one of the first space rock bands with their epic double disc live album. this is the uk remaster from a few years ago with three bonus tracks. listen to this and drift off to space.

takemetoyourleader.gif

MF Doom as King Geedorah - Take Me To Your Leader
some of my favorite doom work. here mf takes on a new names, and shows his love for old godzilla flicks.the album is full of samples from the movies, and tons of other beeps and boops. some of his most experimental work to date. solid jams though, and i think everyone and their step-mother should get this.

Nice. I'm downloading a few things now. I've seen this attempted at other forums and it sorta turns out the same (the inital poster is the only one posting anything), but hey... some good stuff here for everyone to check out... Nice grab bag of an approach too.

thanks man. i've done this on other boards and had it work great, ie. everyone posts albums, input, etc. this is turning out to be a one man show, and i'm not sure anyone (other than you and a few others) are even downloading these.

hope you enjoy some of the jams, i have a pretty eccentric taste in music, so this stuff is all over the place. let me know what you think!

Bjork-Drawing-Restraint9.jpg

bjork - drawing restraint 9
its fucking bjork, and thats all you really need to know.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=C8YX8IFY

5323202rx0.jpg

syd barrett - would you miss me?
a best of collection for the late, and great, syd. 23 songs in total, including bob dylan blues. not as many people listen to syd's solo work, and thats a damn shame. check this out for most of his solo songs you have to hear.

http://www.mediafire.com/?yboh1zwyljc

satori.jpg

flower travellin' band - satori
japanese psych rock from the early 70s. psych heads should know this album all too well, but not enough people do. crazy solos and pretty over the top vocals. most people credit this to be the foundation of stonder rock, but i say its much better than that. check it out, home skillet

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Z7ULQ2UP

beetlejuicecompletescorra2.jpg

beetlejuice - ost
fuck you, download this

http://www.mediafire.com/?um2wmmlbjmx

2005-1-26-12-4-2-the-psychedelic-sounds-of.jpg

13th floor elevators - the psychedelic sounds of the 13th floor elevators
another great texas psych classic you should already have, but i know some people don't. this record, and pretty much everything the elevators recorded, is great. the story of singer roky erickson is a sad and depressing one, and if you dig the band you should all check out the recent doc that came out about him. anyways this album is awesome and i shouldn't have to convince you to download it.

thats it for now, enjoy kids
