Thinking of getting a NEO GEO

I am thinking of getting of getting a NEO GEO. But, my friends are opposed to the idea except one, who is a KoF fan. Everyone is saying that it is too much money to spend. I love 2D, I feel it will be worth it. Should I go ahead and get one? If I do, it will not be until around the mid summer. Should I get the converter also?

I'm new to this place, but I'm no stranger to videogames. You should get the Neo-Geo - it's one of the best fucking 2D consoles, besides the Saturn and DC. It's worth getting, since it has a lot of great 2D classics that should not be missed. From Samurai Shodown to Metal Slug, you will be having a blast. Trust me - I know.

If you feel that it will be worth it, then go
and buy it. Yes, it is much money you will have
to spend for NG and it's games but you will
get a shitload of 2D fun for your hard earned

You have to pay good money for top quality gaming, but is well worth every penny.
The Neo AES is my favorite console even with the high game prices, the console itslef is not a bad price compared to the new gen consoles.

If you can afford the system, and buying games every now-and-then, then go for it. But it's really expensive if you can't afford it. Trust me, I'm 15, and my AES collection hasn't gone very far...however, yuo may want to invest in MVS. That's what I'm aiming for right now since it's a bit cheaper in the long run.

If you want it, you do what you feel is best. I and several others were in the same situation as you...deciding whether or not to get into NEO GEO. Well, all I can tell you is that you won't regret it. I didn't and I'm enjoying it. Sure some of the AES carts can get outragous, but that comes with the territory. It's all up to you!

I want an AES system because I'm not interested (believe it or not) in the fighting games all that much. I want the shooters (like Pulstar) and the side scrollers and adventure games like Blue's Journey, Cyber Lip, Twinkle Star Sprites, and others. The Neo is the best arcade experience there is, IMO, and I've been left out too long!
