you think it is not possible! I demonstrate:
Step 1: MAX price is shown in the Guide.
Step 2: Seller sees recommended MAX LIMIT - maybe marked with an additional "+" to make it more questionable.
Step 3: He offer the game for an amount 5 to 30 % higher than the shown MAX range in the Guide. As reasons he gives the rarity and low availablility of the item.
Step 4: This is done similar by other sellers afterwards.
Step 5: Price has to be altered in the Guide, because average price and MAX Price has been artificially inflated.
Step 6: go to Step 1
Same goes for that crappy NEOGEO Price Guide. So leaving the collectors in ignorance in the past should have prevent the people with smaller wallets from a lot of trouble.
