Soo I have started to collect rare titles for the system consoles that I have, which spans pretty deep, and I have done research on all the holy grails of gaming and by far this game takes the lead:

http://cgi.ebay.com/FACTORY-SEALED-...ptZUS_Vintage_Video_Games?hash=item20af8b55d6

Sad thing is, I had the game CIB, not sealed, when I was 6 and then my cousin took that along with a couple of rare titles and exchanged them for a SNES....

Such is life.

DAMN, that is hard to believe isn't it? I was reading a thread here the other day about really expensive nes games on ebay. Someone mentioned this game but I had no idea what it looked like. Man that sucks that you guys got rid of it but, how could you have known?

Yeah your right, I could not have known at all. I did like the game though, but being I was soo young I thought alot of things were cool haha. Anyways I called up my cousin and sent him the link, he said if I wanted to slap him I can. My reaction was I felt more like hitting him with a very blunt object over the head and then calling it a day.

That price tag is insane, my bet it will hit about mid 20's range, atleast.

Hell, I bet even if you had just the cart only it would still summon a big amount.

Apparently they were test marketed in Woolworth's in the Midwest. Nintendo bought the game and used it for the power pad. World Class Track Meet is the same game with a different title screen. Only 10 known in existance.

I remember when I was a young 'un I saw this game at a Woolworth. Who would know?

There is way more then 10 in existence. The game was on the shelf for 2 months before it was recalled. I has been said that less then 10 CIB copies have shown up. There are more then 10 collectors on nintendoage.com that have the game in some form, whether it be cart only or complete.

Exactly.

But besides --its time to get some Chinese factories working on replicating it. You can make it realer than the real thing.

So glad I never got the NES collecting bug!

Over $10,000 and the reserve hasn't been met.

10 day auctions are stupid. I hate waiting that long, hopefully since this is a rare item he won't lose any buyers. I think 7 days is long as it is.

I still don't understand keeping the games sealed. If I was a millionaire, I would buy sealed games to make sure I had a virgin copy and play the heck out of it. But to keep it sealed on the shelf would be an exorbitant waste of money.

Ditto on the 7-day auctions, perfect length.

And that is what I already do. But it can't be done without sealed collectors... sooo: thank you for preserving the games for me!

With so many resealed NES games around I wouldn't even trust the auction, most people bidding on it probably know the risk though. I'm always amazed at all the hoopla concerning Stadium Events, the price it clearly brings lately considering it's not that rare is interesting.

Why can't we have some auctions like these from time to time the rarest AES titles? I'd like some solid evidence that they would actually bring prices anywhere near what they are said to be worth.

Bronty (big sealed NES collector) snagged one of these sealed in ~2006-07 for about 2-3k if I remember correctly. Therefore the auction is a lie saying its one of a kind ;)

The condition wasn't as good as this one, but still this is way over priced. I think he is missing less then 10 games sealed, pretty impressive if you ask me.

I couldn't stand to do a full sealed collection, the loose carts alone take up my hall closet and a dresser drawer, and I'm still missing a few... :oh_no:

Think this will make online news? I know I saw an auction for just an regular NES and 4 games and one of those games happen to be the game currently in auction and the person selling the lot was expecting the maximum of 100 dollars and in return got the final sale for 13,400.00. Bet you that person was very happy.
