just got a pirate cart of this and holy crap is it amazing - for a famicom game it does things like nothing I've ever seen before. I'm stunned - music is excellent, graphics are pretty amazing, and gameplay is really addictive (please america, it's addictive not addicting).

I'm really chuffed right now.

Summer Carnival '92 - Recca is a really great game. It's worth noting that public copies were never released, so tracking down an original is pricey. This game was made for competition purposes only, one of the main reasons it's so difficult.

I've played it. Pretty incredible for a Famicom game.

Now i wouldn't say that there are reproductions of it sold here.

You are right about getting a original cart though of reca.

Any time i've even look for it even loose the price makes me cringe.

I been thinking about going with a repro and play it on my,Famicom useing the nes adpater.

I was going to suggest that site but I couldn't remember it. I checked back in this thread to see if anyone posted it. Thank you Tron :)
Np every body should have a chance to play, Reca Summer Carnival 92 given how expensive a original go's for.

Is this related to the Summer Carnival '93: Nexzr Special on PC engine?

WTF is a Summer Carnival?

@ Lochlan

Summer Carnival was a shooting competition from Naxat Soft.
Summer Carnival '93: Nexzr Special is different from Summer Carnival '92: Recca,
which was a game for the Famicom (japanese version of the NES).

@ DevilRedeemed

Are you interested in trading your copy of Summer Carnival '92: Recca?
I have a bunch of pirated Street Fighter games (all have different graphics)
and a rare copy of Aladdin (unreleased pirate of the SNES version)!

Summer Carnival was a competition convention held by NaxatSoft. They released
special softs for these tourneys. Some others are Spriggan and Alzadick.

appreciate the offer but I have access to the games you have locally (for years now, md and famicom pirates have been people's gaming bread and butter- though games are alot harder to find these days).

the game on the top is Recca.

edit: the bottom game is a pirated port of Lethal Enforcers. bought it the other day. that's one pirate I have never come across or found info on. box reads: product by Aoji Go Go Tokyo co. LTD.
lol.

Wow, really great stuff :multi_co:

As far as I know the Sachen games are not really pirate games.
I have 8 Sachen games for gameboy and all are orignial ones...

Recca is really impressive. It even has the original label.
If you ever come across another one, don´t hesitate to catch it.
I would pay 50 USD for the game!

The reproduction carts mentioned by tron are not interesting for me,
as I prefer 60pin famicom carts...

Nice collection!

Never even heard of this one. Thanks for making the thread. Peeped a vid on youtube and this looks kind of crazy for a Famicom game.

Just downed teh rom. I'll have to throw it on the Xbox tonight and check it out.

thanks. going to start hunting down Somari and Boogerman and stuff, and will be chucking them on ebay, though if you're on the lookout for anything else, let me know. they are hard to get these days as I say.

Recca was a very lucky find. I have a compatriot who told me he had been looking for the pirate game for years, to no avail - he lives around 6 blocks from me too.

For what it is, this game is blowing my cock off! Can't believe I've never heard anyone talk about it before. So fast and insane without even considering that it's on the NES. I was checking out the FAQ to figure out the controls and what the power ups were. While I was at it I glanced over the stage listing. That second loop sounds balls hard.

Played it for about an hour trying out the different modes and such. Second stage background makes me feel woozy. That boss destroys me if I don't have a double forward secondary to keep me safe. I'm only making it to Stage 3 on Normal; just shy of breaking a million. I suck. :(

This game definitely has that ‘gotta' give it one more go’ addictiveness to it though. I'll be revisiting this one regularly.

Hm. Does anyone know what an original copy of this cart sells for, on average?

I've got most of the hard to find shooters I want at this point, short of Sapphire for PC Engine, but this game is one I can't even find anywhere to price out let alone find one available.

Dammit...tried it via NES emulator on my GBA and it chugs like a bitch. There are also a lot of graphical glitches as well(only game I've seen do that so far). This game must have pushed an actual NES to the max.

Cheapest I've seen a bare-cart copy go for is about $135.00 US. Complete boxed copies normally sell for $300+.

I just mention it becuase it is cheaper then buying the original.

I have a famicom av but i still buy a repro of it.

Given i have a 60 to 72 pin adapter for playing nes carts on it.

Sure there are pirates of it but i hardly see them at all on ebay.

That's all? I was actually expecting the price tag to be a lot higher. If it's under $200, it's probably the next thing on my list to acquire!
