I'm sure there are people here that are going to some interesting places in the near future. Let's share where we're going.

For me, I got accepted for a Masters in Paris and will be there for a year and leaving late next month.

So where are you going?

I wish we had a grand vacation planned this year. :(

We did but life decided otherwise and a series of bills kind of cut that short. So, this year it is a week off with the family and a trip to St. Louis. A few days at Six Flags, the City Museum (if you do know of that place, look it up, it's awesome). Some eating out…you know, mild stuff.

Work is keeping me busy.

This week, I'm in Indianapolis for the whole week.
Next week, I'm in San Diego for 3 days, then San Francisco for 2 days.
Then I'm back to Indy for the week. (GenCon)
Then I'm heading to Lincoln, NE for a week,
Then I'm scheduled to be in Des Moines/Ames.
And then I'm hoping to be home for a week, but I doubt that will happen.

Just got back from Jamaica a few weeks ago. What a fucking waste of a vacation. That's about the nicest thing I can say about Jamaica.

Just had a weekend in Manhattan and loved it. So much good food there and it's nice to be in a city when you like a shat-hole like FL. If any of you dig Sichuan cuisine, check out La Vie en Sichuan for some spicy food! Gotta love me some Mamoun's and Ramen as well.

Honestly you're the second person this week that has expressed that view.

I will be going with the girlfriend to Japan in October for 2 weeks. I just got back from Japan this April, but The girlfriend and I wanted to do something to celebrate 10 years of dating (I plan on proposing there) Out of the places we looked at (italy,Spain, Korea) Japan was the cheapest, and since i know some things to do already, it shouldn't be a stressful vacation

Going to Boston tonight on business. For leisure, Orlando in October for Halloween Horror Nights. Currently planning a beach vacation and a long weekend trip to Vegas for next year.

Not when i was looking at plane tickets. Plus i hear its a lot harder to get around in Korea

What, no. The country's so small you can get anywhere within a few hours by train. Cost of living is also significantly cheaper than Japan.

From what i heard, not many things are in English. Like in Japan, all the JR rails and most of the subways have everything written in both Japanese and English, and announcements are also made in English. I hear this isn't the case as much in Korea. I could be wrong. i didn't look into in depth, i just read a few things online

Weather is best around October. Are you from one of the SARs? I try to go to Hong Kong once every year or so myself.

South Padre island next month

When you go, there's a little cafe right at the entrance to the island as soon as you get off the bridge. They have probably one of the best burgers I have ever had in my life.
