It's not about the formula. Ever since 97 the games have had super gameplay, so gameplay isn't a factor anymore. While kof2002 plays okay, it just feels really bootleg and non-KOF. Much like 2000 and 2001 did.

KOF 99 is my favorite KOF game, it had all the great gameplay of 98, coupled with the best music in the series, best graphics, and overall a great new feel. That great feel was in every previous KOF, each one felt really new and special. 2000 just felt like a MUGEN, 2001 felt like a bad MUGEN, and 2002 feels like a generic game.

I'm not saying it's a bad game. It's actually pretty okay. But compared to the oder ones, it's pure shit. That's how I feel anyway.

The only offical info i have read is from Edge magazine issue number 119. They mention that its definately gonna happen and expect an arcade release in the summer time. I think i also read this on madman's cafe website. Something interestly worth noting is if you go to playmore's site and click on Partnership you will clearly see Capcom and Sega.

You should play SNK vs Capcom on the NGPC, it's a really awesome game and it may help you get over that Crapcom characters on an SNK system thing.

Why is SEGA listed, I wonder. Is it because of the occasional DC release? In that case why isn't SONY listed as well...

I am very interested in the SNK Vs Capcom but I too would be well excited at some sequels.... Imagine using 700+ Megs on games like Baseball Stars 3, Magician Lord 2, Real Bout 3 Last Resort 2 etc... Id bet if Playmore announced for example a 700 Meg Baseball Stars 3 the forums would go nuts!!

Did MS3 came after KOF2000 ?

It's true new releases aren't that great.
Still laughing when I think back of the kof2001 hype... "Best kof since '98" LOL !

New releases won't be even close to a good game as long as they don't fix their crappy musics problems.

I first heard of 2002 reusing some older kof tracks. I was thinking "oh my got, theiy're going to put back musics straight from older games, recycleware way...". I wish I was right, they redone the tracks and, hum, no comments...

RotD is fair considering it's a third party game, but still has some flaws like backgrounds feeling like they've been scanned...

Gotta agree here, the KoF 2K2 sound track is really bad, to me it sounds almost like 8 bit music.. Lots of beeping.. However, other recent games have had some very nice music like ROTD and Metal Slug 4. What happened with KoF 2K2?

Granted, it's not the best music I've ever heard, but I like it. It's not cream your pants, love making, stripper music, but for a video game it's just fine to me.

Sega and SNK have had strong ties for a long time and they are both involved in the arcade industry

Will the NeoGeo version of CapVsSnk be a complete new game, or the same as the arcade, dreamcast etc versions?

There just going to port the DC one because even though the DC can't do Neo-Geo games properly the Neo can do DC games even better than the original....

[EDIT>At least thats what I think I heard... :o ]

Yah, I'm sure "Playmore vs. Capcom" would be a huge hit :)

it would confuse even most neo fans.
