Hi,

I am thinking of getting a Sigma Raijin supergun and got a few questions :)

1. What video out put does it support? (S-Video? Composite? RGB/SCART?)

2. How is audio dealt with?

3. Is it compatible with Neo Geo games using all 4 buttons?

4. What about Capcom fighting games?

Let me know if there is anything else I should know/be aware of before taking the plunge :)

Thanks guys!

Hi,

1. All of them, but RGB rules
2. Mono or Stereo switchable
3. Yop
4. Of course, I use it for both MVS and CPS-3, but you'll need an almighty harness

Ah great. Is it possible to get a Scart/RGB cable for it?

If yes....

1. Does it carry sound through it?

2. Will it work for EU televisions or it has to be rewired as its the weird JP standard?

3. Does it carry a voltage on Scart Pin 16? Without it, most TVs wont switch to RGB mode.

4. Can I use a Neo Geo RGB Scart cable?

Thanks again for your help!

PS. Whats with the almighty harness? What does it do, and where can I get one?

Sigma RGB cables are similar but not identical to the Neo Geo ones. The 8-pin plug is differently shaped (and will not fit the Sigma socket) and the pinout is slightly different as it supports stereo sound whereas Neo Geo cables are mono. And it will not be wired for scart unless it has been modded by some previous European owner.

If you need one, PM me.

Need a Sigma Raijin? Or just the RGB cable :)

MKL, does the Sigma output 3v for pin 16 for RGB mode switch?

Thanks!

I meant that I can make you a cable (with appropriate voltage on scart pin 16 for RGB switching).

Mmmmm... so that's why the RGB cable I bought for my Raijin won't work with my tv...
Do you mind me asking how exactly it has to be modded in order to do so?

When playing Neo Geo fighters, which button would be 'D'? I wonder how such play would play on t he sigma considering the non-neogeo friendly layout?

That depends on your choice, you can wire the jamma harness to configure the button layout as you like.

For example, you could use 4, 1, 2, 3 as A B C D in a similar way as a Neo Geo cab or 4, 5, 1, 2 as A, B, C, D emulating a Neo CD pad layout.

Does the Sigma come with a jamma harness included?

I don't think so, it just includes a standard AV cable, the AC cable and a screwdriver to regulate the voltage.

I guess some sellers may sell one with the package though, since it's a necessary accessory.

Strange it doesnt even come with a bogstandard cable - I assume buyers have to buy ones specific to their systems.

Sigma Raijin and Sigma AV6000 (and 7000) use the same harness. And it should come with the supergun, if it's complete. But even if it's missing it's pretty easy to make one as they don't use odd/proprietary connnectors.

I was thinking, Sigma is 110v... and over here we use 220v.

How many amps does the drop down convertor has to support in order to be safe?

Thanks!
