the Game Gear games are also top notch. And while the controls aren't quite as tight, Legions on Saturn is a ton of fun. And yes, I thoroughly enjoy the cheesy cut scenes.

Agreed. The GG Shinobi titles are really solid. The Saturn one is too and I didn't like it for a long time, I've come to appreciate it over the years. It's basically a playable Cannon ninja movie with classic Shinobi gameplay. Intentionally goofy or not there's a lot of charm there.

Never forgot the awesome Alex Kidd in Shinobi world. I had tons of fun with this game. This is an easy 1cc and replayable for high scores.

I downloaded this ROM in the late 90s, since it was labeled Shinobi. I was very confused.
