This is the best news I have heard since the Metal Slug 3 re-release. I love SNK! I love NEO GEO! The world is happy again.

TMOSteel, its not easy but you have to make it clear to her early how important your hobby is to you. If she loves you, she will understand. Otherwise, its either her or the NEO. I don't recommend deceiving her about the cost of these things because she will find out eventually.

So does this mean that the price of the MVS game will drop like a rock? I hope so. I myself would rather have the MVS kit of it than the homecart......hope this happens.....

Wow, Sengoku 3! That is so awesome! SNK still has a little love for the NEO fans. I'll be buying this one. Maybe two if I can afford it. (probably not) Does it realy matter if it is Japanese only? I don't think so.

What kind of options does the home menu have?

Finally, an upcoming release TRULY worth getting excited about! I couldn't have cared less about the MS3 re-release since I've had that title since last year, and I have very mixed feelings about the Strikers cart production, but damn, it's good to see a 100% official, original home cart release coming down the pike! Hell yes! My pre-order request has been sent!

Wow and didn't SNK say they had no plans to release Sengoku 3 on AES?

It's amazing that in 2001 their still releasing Home System carts, seeing as the systems been extremely niche ever since day one, even in japan.

SNK has to be the number 1 company for sticking by what they make, any other company would have killed the system off long ago.

I thought that this game would be coming out as a U.S. cart release (insert, manual, etc.). But when I emailed NCS, they said it would be a Jap cart. Bummer . . . even though I did preorder, I would have preferred the U.S. one . . .

You know, reserving a copy is good and all but buying the copy you reserved is just as important. If retailers or SNK see a lot of demand but then see a warehouse full of unsold stock, it would be just as bad as if there wasn't as much demand.

James

P.S. You just tell the wife that this is an outdated system and the games go for like $30 on eBay. Then if she snoops and finds out they go for $300-400, you jump up and yell, "I got a hell of a deal!"

Good news to see a new game on the Neo. Just when you think it's dead, it rises from the grave to amaze you.

I would like to pre-order this, but I just don't think $300 is worth it for game like Sengoku. Not that it's a bad game, it just isn't worth $300 to me.

Explaining it to your girlfriend? Well, I've never really been in a serious enough relationship with a woman.. -I'm a bit of a shy loner- but my advice would be to be open about it and be tolerant of each other's habits and lives, as was mentioned above.

Sent in my email right when this topic came up and got my confirm from NCS.

About the wife thing, my wife knew I was crazy before she married me. I had two entire bookshelves full of die cast Japanese toys (robots and the like), tons of gaming crap, and watched cartoons all the time; and she married me anyway.

Personally, I don't run and tell her how much the stuff is, but I don't hide it either. I just buy it. She gives me a bad time when she sees a new box in the home office that I have vacated of its precious cargo. She starts in with the, "Hmm...what's that from? What did you get?" She's just bustin' on me in fun, though.

is this really worth $300? i thought all new homecarts are supposed to be like $200-$250 and nowadays the raw materials (rom chips etc..) should be cheaper, right? i dunno maybe im wrong

Ha, the whole wife/girlfriend thing... yeah, I know they don't get it. My girl can't understand why I drop all that money on games... but she realizes that it makes me happy, and she is cool with that. Besides, as long as I can afford it and her, she sees no problems I would say tell the truth, lying about it could blow up on you one day... then you might come home and find the neo gone... eekkk, of course the wife would follow soon, grrrrrr!
