Got my gift from Bobak... and it's pretty awesome.

High tech cigar cutter which I have just determined to have completed my quest for the "perfect" one.

Thank you man.. there was no reason to have rushed this. It's very VERY appreciated. The Kitsch ornament was great, my wife and I love these kinds of things.

My package is going out shortly, having some difficulties with it.

Remember that conversation about cocktails and beer? I stopped going to the store and did a bunch of research on what's something new that been getting good reviews (I figured if it were something I'd heard of from back when I was smoking cigars, you'd probably have it--and shipping cigars from below-freezing MN is just a bad idea, especially when it would involve guessing your taste). No local store carried the Shuriken. That ornament is from Mall of America :D

no pics? savage.

I probably sent the smallest gifts on this round of Secret Santa--but I swear they were tailored! :emb:

Christmas Comes Early (For Me)

I got my package from my Secret Santa this past Friday.

Alas, I don't have a way to host pictures, but I do have a list of what all I got.

Before I begin, I just want to say to my Secret Santa, N30_G30_speed: Wow. Not only did you go above and beyond the call of duty, you also had everything sent from Argentina (in fact, I'm willing to guess that shipping alone was more than the suggested gift limit of $25, but nevermind that). My gifts were:

Anime DVDs:
-Burn-Up W
-Bastard!! Complete Collection
-Battle Athletes v.1-3
-X: The Movie

Manga:
-Samurai Shodown (English version; published by Viz back in the '90s.)

Game Guide:
-Guilty Gear X PS2 Guide Book (Japanese)

Hats off to you, N30_G30_speed! I especially appreciate that you went out of your way to get the anime DVDs (and the Guilty Gear X guide). Thanks a ton, and next time, I'll request something not as hard to find (like, say, Persona 4 or something).

So... anyone up for Kovert Kwanzaa? (It's like Secret Santa, but it takes place after Christmas.)

Got my SS gift today!!

ss2012.jpg

Thanks to Arbormatt for the gifts.

Fringe Comic Book, look forward to reading this. Didn't even know they existed and it's about the major turning point in the story.
John Carpenter Master of Fear Collection, glad I got this. I have never been able to watch some of these movies from start to finish because I always got interrupted when watching them on the TV. Now my nephew can watch the awesomeness of They Live!
Gold Rush DVD, I don't know why I like this show so much. It's possible it's because it's normal guys getting gold and the main guy is fat and has a beard.
Dark City Director's Cut Blu Ray, YES!! I love this movie and have been forgetting to pick it up on Blu Ray for the longest time. I've only had my HDTV for a month now so it's perfect timing.

I just got a second package from Xian Xi containing these:

I'm really floored by these. I can't wait to try them. Again, thank you so much for the gifts. :buttrock:

I really hope my package arrived safely at its destination. If it's late, blame USPS.

Awesome. Big thanks to Jeff Kurtz for helping me get those since I can't ship beer from Hawaii.

Taito F3 with a region mod.

Universal region mod (I cut the plastic tabs out of the sockets). Not too hard to do, but hard to do and make it look good :D

Also, interesting story about that Getting started guide for the Nintendo Gamecube:
I worked in an office who's previous tenant was the USA branch of AKKLAIM games, Fameous for BMXXX, the awful southpark game on N64 and various ports of arcade hits. This was one of many things left behind by them.. I had a piece of the Dreamcast Dev Kit for a while. My brother-in-law has the source code from the Genesis version of Bart VS the Space Mutants on a DAT. It was pretty neat.

"The Package" went out this morning as I got the address from CDAMM.

Nothing says "Stocking Stuffer" like Ryan Phillipe:

A box full of delicious treats

Video game themed with Cho Aniki:

Santa will be coming soon:

Have no fear, I did some work and went over the budget for the gifts. I definitely think they will like what they get.

The packing material is assorted candy, hence the box full of delicious treats

I take it this isn't going overseas? Don't want to repeat the "ROT ships assorted contraband with carts" debacle.

Heh, no.

It's staying domestic.

No contraband, it's stuffed full of two gifts and two huge bags of assorted candy.

I didn't want to ruin the surprise. Would it have made it better if I included a baby shower gift, also?
