First and foremost: Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.
Right now, I'm just getting tired of playing first-person shooters and real-time strategy games at LAN parties. Not that they're bad, mind you, but every once in a while, it'd be a nice change of pace to do something else. I used to love playing Final Fantasy XI online, but I simply don't play games enough to validate paying ten dollars a month (per player in my group) just to play an RPG on computer. I'm really not even looking for an online RPG at all; what I'm wondering-about is an RPG on LAN.
There are some choices out there, and I'm scouring IGN.com's not-so-helpful reviews to figure-out which PC RPGs are LAN-play-compatible and which ones aren't, and ultimately wading through a mess. If anyone out there could shout-out some recommendations (or, if you want, tell me which ones not to get) then I would appreciate it very much.
I realise I might be entering a severely-niche market, but hey, that's kinda what being a PC gamer is all about.
