Heard nothing about this for a while, the Fan made project that has been mentioned was created as a demo.
They ripped the assets from other Resident Evil games by Capcom (i think Umbrella Chronicles).
It was a really nicely done little demo but never went any further.

The fan Demo looked like garbage. Capcom keeps trolling, releasing cryptic statements about still working on it. Hopefully one day we see something tangible.
