So I'm about to start hacking away at the plastic region keys on my F3 motherboard. The plastic is a little harder than I had imagined.

Does anyone who has done this before have some sage advice to offer me before I start bending and breaking pins? What kind of sharp thingie did you use? Are the pins really fragile, or super fragile?

Nope, I never did it my self, but if I did...

I would get an X-acto knife with the flat blade on it like this:

and work on it going straight down. I think that will keep you out of trouble.

Thanks, Briggs. I picked up some blades like that and they did the trick.

The pins were much sturdier than I had thought and I had no problems bending any messed up ones back into place.

Everything went fine and I just finished a nice game of Darius Gaiden.
