ok, a friend of mine wants to sell me a psp for relatively cheap, but knowing me.. I am just interested in homebrew..

Anyway, I found the downgrader thing with the image overflow thing, and was just wondering if the PSP had to originally have 1.5 firmware for this to work, because the one he has is originally 2.0 firmware.

thanks!

No,the system does not have to be a 1.50 original to downgrade. All you need is a MPH downgrader pack and a 1.50 fw. Both can be found at www.pspupdates.qj.net. Be sure to read and follow the Read Me to the T before attempting the downgrade. Also, you'll need to disable Norton/and or firewall when loading the downgrader files to your memory stick, since the overflow.tif is a trojan file.

I just downgraded a friends psp (originally 2.0) a few weeks ago and BIG helped out with locating the right stuff etc. It was a breeze and didn't take more than a few minutes. Like BIG says though, be sure to follow directions and all will be fine.
