Question about Zero/Ling/Original Zero

I been trying to put together the storyline in 2000 for a while but it doesnt make sense to me...Ok...the "Ling" with heidern is supposed to be zero's clone right? But then zero is fighting somewhere else at the final battle and he is against NESTS...now...in 2001..we find out that version of zero is also a clone because we fight original zero. Now my question is why would original zero have 2 clones that look like ling? This part of the kof storyline confused the hell out of me..can anybody help clear it up? (Hope I didnt confuse anyone else further..lol) <img src="graemlins/eye.gif" border="0" alt="[Eye]" />

i think Ling was Zero in disguise in '00.then when in '01 you fight the Original Zero.'00 Zero was a clone i think to test out the KOF Champs to active the Zero Cannon.

Thats what I figured at first too...but "Ling" is with heidern somewhere else; and at the same time, Zero is fighting against the last team. Was ling a mentally controlled clone or something? I guess Original Zero just let his clone look like someone else altogether and have a high rank in Nests also?

Ling is a clone of a clone.

Ling worked with Heidern, but was really working under NESTS, under Zero, who is a clone of Original Zero, who is the original.

Wow, could they have made that any more confusing? I guess Ling wasnt as powerful as zero even though he was a clone? Cause heidern took him out, Also, did ling survive even though zero died?

That's what he did.

Zero (the 2000 boss) killed Ling, and put a clone of himself in his place. Being a master of disguises, both his clone and he himself took up Ling's face. When Zero is stunnen, you can see his face someway 'scrmblaed', in fact.

2000 Zero though he was an original, pretty much as Krizalid did. The both were not. Krizalid was a K' clone, and 2000 Zero was actually a clone fo the 'original' 2001 Zero.

As far as we know.

That makes sense now. I hope they explain someday now why Zero needed 2 clones, and was kept secret from his clones...lol

i don't think they would.i think they just mess up that part of the '00 story and they don't know how to fix it.

Most probably, no Original Zero was planned back in 2000.

But altering just the face of a sprite is a nice way to get a cool 'half-new' mid boss, huh?
