Hi Neo Geo fans,

How can you tell if your MVS Puzzle Bubble is a bootleg or a Taito/SNK original? Just want to know because Jeff Kurtz need a original for a PB conversion.

Thanks for looking and thanks in advance for your replys.

I have a bootleg and an original Puzzle Bobble. The Bootleg has big EPPROM chips on the inside, and no branding on anything. The original is all real chips, and has SNK branded on the board. Both work pretty well, although the sound on the bootleg can be touchy at times (requiring you to reseat it to get it to play right)... other then that they are identical playing and looking on the outside.

I have a few bootlegs scattered though my MVS collection, but don't worry too much -they work Okay. Its just that, like a tricky toilet you have to sometimes jiggle the handle.

You can use a bootleg as a conversion, however, I can't be sure of the exact requirement for a sac cart until I see the mvs cart.
