Picked this up tonight because the box touted the following:
"Can convert DVD straight to PSP format."

So I install it. It even runs well under WINE in linux.
So I place in my copy of disk 3 of season 11 of MASH--the last episode.
I figure, why not try this as my first shot for this program?

"Cannot convert region encoded or CSS encoded DVDs."

What's the friggin' point?

The only non-encrypted DVD I have is the promo DVD that came with KOF Maximum Impact. And that ain't travelin' material.

I'm running DVDrip to try and transcode the DVD of my choice. Then I'll give the video encoder another shot.

But so far I wouldn't recommend the program to anyone else for not doing what the box totes it as being able to do.

Thumbs down.

Well, I got the episode ripped with DVD rip to *.avi format.

The PSP converter worked to MP4, but the PSP said the file was in an unsupported format!!!

I'm trying to convert to AVC format to see if the PSP will recognize it then.

For and off-the-shelf product it certainly isn't without it's flaws.

Just use dvddecrypter to create a decrypted (d'oh) and region-free image on your PC, then use your program. But this kinda kills the product usefulness.

I just used DVD Decrypter and PSPVideo9. Works well, although you really need a memory card of at least 1 GB for movies. Works fine for TV shows though.

I've tried to run PSPVideo9, and no luck. I'm missing .NET framework and it won't install on my OS. (Linux)

dvd:rip works for ripping my DVDs. So I'm set there.

But I can't find a media manager to correctly encode my video. Even though the encoded video plays on my PC, it won't pay on the PSP.

I'm running Firmware 3.11. But that shouldn't make a difference, should it?

Well, if you had a firm able to load unsigned stuff, you could try to use some homebrew media players that might give you better results.
