Looks pretty good to me.
I havent got a problem with the front artwork not being 'busy' enough. As long as it matches the style of the back I'll be happy.
And I'm not bothered about stuff like borders either - I always thought the borders on the old US covers looked really bland and nasty, and seeings as my own Neo AES collection is a bit of a mix of Jap and US it's not going to ruin any sort of 'consistency' in the look of it.

Can't wait to see the full-colour version.

looks okay i guess.
i kinda liked the rotd one better with the
more chara on the cover but it is nice to see
playmore listening to the customers about the
us version and meg counts and all.
personally i opt for the jp ones but to each his own.

I don't collect AES, but the insert looks pretty nice, even from a black and white scan. It's definitely good to see Playmore listening to the fans on the meg counts etc too, which is definitely going to make a lot of people happy.

About color in the background, remember, this is a scan of a fax, of a fax. The background could be yellow, green, or the preferred grey for all we know, and we will find out soon enough. Even if the background is white, it would still look great. However, Orpheus brings up a good point to request grey.
I assumed it would be white because that's the background of the poster that image is shown on in the arcadia magazine (inside and cover).
i may be wrong but the cover of Arcadia has a different facial expression for princess Sissy.

Thanks for the scan. My guess is Zorro and I were not the only ones who first thought that Clara was pulling at Princess Sissy's breast, with that expression, who wouldn't.

Sad that the reactionary neogeofan boys got their meg-count back. The meg count is really outdated and I really loved the more Japanese style spine design with the screenshots as on recent English versions. It is really dissapointing that this great step forword in insert design has been turned back by some conservative neo geo fan boys. I think somepeople only care if it fits well in their collection, I don't care I want great artwork, so no grey border and a screenshot and genre description on the spine. I think I will now return buying Japanese homecarts instead of the English ones.

Personally, I hate the hyper-busy inserts.

Matrimelee and the recent KOF inserts have been awesome in their (sometimes) understatement.
I AGREE 100% An insert that gets too busy looks like crap imo.

Just as I remembered, that's another illustration. Not only Sissy facial expression, but also the 'thing' expression and the whole colouring tecnique are different. Please see the Playmore offiacial illust

Both great pieces of art indeed. The Playmore official one is most probalby the original from game illustrator Murata Tange, while the Arcadia one may be some kind of re-intepretation by one of the magazine internal illustrators.

Murata's original is probably the best: the color style is awesome (not just 'plain color zones', a la anime sytle), yet I've to say I like the Arcadia one better. And yes, the orgasmic look of Sissy does matter in making this judgement. :D
