Anyone else have a Play-Yan or Play-Yan Micro.

I just got a PLM off of ebay and wanted to know if anyone knows the best SD card for the money and what video software you use.

i got the micro just so i could get the play yan for it and turn the thing into
an mp3 player. i can't tell you any info about sd cards, but when you get it
can let me know how it is and if it has a US interface or just a japanese one?
i'm hoping it comes out here, but if it works in english i'll pick one up.

Well the software is Japanese for the video converter. You can use PSP 9 though.

As far as MP3s you just drag and drop them onto the SD card.

From what I read everyone loves this thing.

Okay if anyone else has the Play-Yan Micro or the Play-Yan with updated firmware try the 3GP_Converter(Japanese one...you can find it on google.)

Just pick the PSP video mode and set your FPS,bitrate and sound.

Drag and drop.

The video playback is pretty awesome for this screen.

wanted to bump this.

How difficult is it to convert a video with that Media software for Nintendo that it comes with? I plan on ordering one of these today. Just want to get some opinions.

Most people said its pretty easy. I ordered the one without the software(you can get it from play-asia this way) since you have to set your PC to Japanese just to install it. I just use a 3GP_converter for the vids and it works perfectly.

Where can I get the 3GP_converter?

I would like to skip the whole Jpn software trouble if I could. MP3's are drag-n-drop?

the PSP settings work well for the Play Yan? Is there any naming conventions I should be aware of or directory structure?

thanks for the link

Nope

Thats the cool thing about the play yan.

Just use the PSP video setting on that 3gp converter. Pick your bitrate and sound. Then drag and drop. When done dump on your SD card. Much easier than the PSP.

I just made 2 folders on my SD card

Video and Audio.

Then in the Audio I have subfolders for different groups or playlists.

You can name the videos whatever you want but it only displays the first 6-8 charicters.
