"Actually, I have heard that the image quality from the SuperNOVA and HGA are FAR from "flawless". Composite output from those devices, from what many have posted here, is utter garbage. S-video output is said to be much better, but still BELOW the quality of the Neo CD s-video, or a modded home cart s-video."
Well, see, that's just what you heard. A lot of people say a lot of dumb things to make their home cart system look better than everything else. The picture from a Super Nova
is virtually flawless, you need to see it before you can comment. The Neo Cart system with S-Video mod is
far from the quality of the Super Nova S-Video, the same with the cart system's Composite. The Super Nova's composite is pretty bad, but as I've said before I was able to put up with it a lot longer than the cart system.
I've thought about it more today, and there's no way in hell they could include and RGB-NTSC convertor in the AESII and keep the price tag at $350... RGB-NTSC convertors range from anywhere between $150-$200 from what I've seen, and that would push the price tag
way up. It seems like a pretty extraneous feature if you ask me... What does a Super Gun have to do with playing Neo Geo games? Why would anyone buy their Phantom-1 convertor if they could just as easily hook a 1-Slot board into it their AESII for a quarter of the price? This whole thing raises a lot of questions that don't make sense...
Mike, you made the right choice. I've owned my MVS board for about 2 weeks now, and once you get an MVS board hooked in to it you will wonder why the hell you ever considered buying home carts.
