It's not crazy, but it's certainly not a plug and play thing. Basically you have to open a left joycon and move the innards to a new case.
Are there experiences with these anywhere from people who actually know the difference between a good d-pad and a shit one? If the backside of the pad is made poorly and doesn't contact well you'd be better off instead just slapping some type of cheap press-on PSP d-pad cover over the buttons (or slumming it and gluing a coin on).
