Kojima is a notorious corner-cutter and my current TV only cost me like $650.

I'm not joking. Kojima's graphics are have always just been par at best.


Also, if your TV cost $650 and it's not at least HD you either got ripped off, or it's fucking old and outdated.

So true, every MGS game feels rushed and incomplete.

Kojima keeps getting away with it because even with a mullet, Snake is hot; and even if we don't admit it, we all have a little bit of a gaymer in us.

Tell me, what looked better than MGS2 when it was released? Especially on the PS2. Who else was capable of making PS2 games (MGS3) look as good as GC or Xbox games? Go watch a trailer for MGS4 and tell me those graphics are "par at best".

I don't know about Joe's tv but your statement about Kojima games graphics is bullshit, at best.

For the record, my TV is an off-brand LCD HDTV that certainly wouldn't impress HD nuts, but it was a generous gift from my folks and makes my movies & games look a hell of a lot better than they did on my old set so I'm more than happy with it.

Also for the record, I don't care if people have better stuff than me.

I have no idea where Res is coming from/going with his comment on Kojima/MGS.

I used to love MGS2, then hate it, then love it again

Certainly it has some silly moments (like the crotch-grabbing thing), and annoying/irritating characters (vamp, fatman and, above all, otakon's sister).
Also you may argue about how the plot gets twisted at the end

but from a mere technical point of view...
I don't think to go so far if I say it represents one of the best achievement in videogames' history

I don't remember about anything that in 2001 looked as good as MGS2, on ANY system (inc. PC), and that's saying a LOT, considering PS2 is basically a piece of junk.
