First: A incarnate of the POLL system some other boards are equipped with. Perhaps when someone is going to be banned we could do yes or no polls. Add and opinion as to the reasoning you wish to convey.(Things these people had done to deserve a ban) This UBB version does not support Poll to my knowledge, if a upgrade is available that supports it, cool.

Second: One more forum in the business isle. Good Deals/Bad Deals forum. Which people can post stags for scammers, or to help others in case someone's money gets taken. There should also be and IFCC link at the top of this forum. Also, this would be a place for warnings and other scenario's of a soon to be scammed member.

Note:My idea is this: When someone posts a rant they tend to drift to pages people do not see, as some are the most popuilar topics, others may get lapsed and this results in danger to others dealing with "X person". Also with the Good Deals/Bad Deals forum things will keep more on track and be seen better by the members.
In advance to this you can keep the selling section strictly as selling.

Member Names: Some people tend to choose a Nick name that will not suit them later. Perhaps I were to register as Geese Howard, then in a few months I adapt more to like another character. So with that said, every six months or so have a single day for new names to be swapped for older ones.

A general list of what is allowed, what you will be flamed for, and what is not.
This list could be on the front page, a guidelines section perhaps. Many people are banned or deleted. With no standards set to let them hide behind this they will feel the need to whine about it. The list could protect the community at large before they ruin themselves unknowingly.

Let me make and example: "Why you will be flamed" list. This is one compiled mass list. If you were to post Hardcore pornography outside of the warroom then that would be listed in things that are not allowed.
This idea is not held with a communist or seperatist outlook, just simple fair guidelines. Not meant in bad faith, but meant to help.

Some things that should be noted and put on strict attention: Porno, Death Threats, etc thing. These should result in a one day suspension and on second offence a banishment from this board. People have the warroom to fall back on.

Spam: This is the biggest issue and I honestly think it is over rated. The general consensus is that one person will follow the other. There should be no hiarchy of who can spam and who cannot. I feel that member numbers should be done away with, as many have said in the past. Only if this is possible. Post count as well, since it pretty much fuels people to have a garnered status in the eyes of others.
Respect by others seems to be the main problem, and this respect leads us away from the reason we are here.

Allot of idea's there, but I don't know about the Good Deals/Bad deals and Name change idea.

I think allot of people who sell/trade/buy on this forum has either feedback on auction sites and references which they can give to the seller/buyer/trader. I don't think you need a forum for that, and the bad deals don't happen that often, and there mostly taken to general discussion.

Probably quite a few people would like to do a name changing, but if you look at it, its going to be crazy every 6 months if this happens. People will change there name, you have to learn all the new names and relate to the same person, but with a different name. This will give allot of confusion with this much members.

Well I had allot of problems when every1 changed there names when the option was still available, if your away for a week you get totally confused.

I'm all in for A general list of what is allowed and what not.

I don't care about the member numbers/posts. Its probably better to get them away as you stated people tent to respect lower member #'s and high post #'s

EDIT: about the poll option, thats a great idea. In the KoF forum's are quite a few polls held and in other forums aswell, what to get what not to get etc. And it can be handy for banning people I guess :D

I think we may be coming up on a year's anniversary from the time I first brought this idea up.

I like stupid surveys, for which there used to be some surveys, but they were too broad ranging.

Perhaps better would be a month by month survey for like 5~10 neo games - favorite Garou MotW character; favorite Last Blade series Character; fav KoF/Sam Sho; favorite metal slug vehicle; favorite puzzle game etc. At the end of the month there'd be the month score and the year to date average.

This wouldn't take more than maybe 20 hours to implement. Less if the person knew what they were doing.

Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents on a few of these suggestions:

I think this is a fine idea, except for the "banning polls". That should and will stay up to moderator discretion. It could easily be taken way out of hand, we prefer dictatorship to mob justice :D

We shouldn't have to tell people "don't post hard core porn". That should be obvious. If you do, you are punished. Real life analogy: If you steal anything, you're punished. not told "oh, you can't steal that particular food." Off with their hands, dammit! <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" />

Yeah, Bobak! I agree with you. Its a natural thing to know right from wrong, its just to bad some people do not have the morals to judge social behavior from anti social. I mean, some porn is acceptable, but the audiences here include alot more under age people, then people of legal age.
Had it been the other way around in my eyes, the majority would rule. The only problem is it still would be unexceptable.

This place has a lot of underage people, but honestly, I don't think we need to cater to them at all. It's all fine and dandy that they "are interested in the neo geo" but they're probably just in the math club with Sonic1987 and Sonic1987DC, and heard that this is a good place to talk about the Dreamcast and X-Box.

It's like if Joe Montana had a big fan party, and 12 year olds showed up - I'd be like, dude, were you alive when Joe won the superbowl?! I feel the same way when I see kids here and I'm thinking, damn, of course you never played SSII in the arcades...

So fuck man, you want to post here about your x-box purchases? Look at my hard core interracial under the crotch penetration shot sig pics, kiddo, and make sure you've got your parent's permission, because you're in the wrong forums. Gamefaqs is thattaway->*get lost*
