I just got a 4-slot MVS and when I first went into the hardware test, and went into the "i/o check" it made some sort of test tones along with the usual things on there.
When I go out of the screen, the test sounds do not go away. Not when I turn it off, unplug, nothing. Any ideas?

Also i'm not talking about the sound test screen after the i/o test screen.

Thanks!

Turned off and unplugged it's still making noise...?

What are you dip switches set to, and board voltage?

^ "Maximum Overdrive"! unplugged?! er eh...

What is the sound like? Are your EL lights working (mini marquee)? Those can make a high pitched noise (through your speakers) of varying pitch depending on how bad they are. And they are cycled through rapidly during the i/o test which could maybe sound like a 'sound test' of sorts. if so, maybe try unplugging the inverter where it plugs into the mobo. maybe just a bad inverter or EL lights?
