Hello,

maybe someone can help me with my MV-1FT
MVS board:
I had a universe bios installed, and the first issue I had was a sound issue with Metal Slug 3

http://ablage.pixelheim.de/MS3_MVS.mp3

Then I tested another MS3 cartridge - same issue. Other games (e.g. Puzzle Bobble) worked, though.
Plus, the MS3 works flawlessly in my MV-1FZ.

OK, then I thought the first step would be to set it back to its factory defaults, and that included replacing the U-bois with the stock bios again.
After I had done this, I cannot even load a game any more and get stuck at the greeen screen.

Maybe someone has an idea where to look for that problem!?

Thanks
plx

Im surprised it's booting missing the crystal for the calendar. You usually would just be stuck on a green screen.

OK, crystal replaced, game starting, but the sound issue still remains.
You can listen to it, see link in my 1st post.

Any idea what that could be?
Thanks

The sound - digitally distorted sometimes, see mp3 sample in my 1st post here...

That's how metal slug games are, the sound is overdriven. Without a video I have no reference as to what I'm supposed to be hearing.

Thats not "how Metal Slug games are"... ;) Btw, the sound is OK on a different MVS board -
it definitely has to be a board issue...

Maybe I should have been more precise: its not literally "overdriven", but more like "digital audio garbage" :D
Anyway, have you heard the sample? It has been taken from the intro. There's nothing wrong with the graphics,
it's only the sound.

I heard the clip but like I said, without the visuals I have no idea what I am supposed to be hearing in conjunction with what's happening on the screen. I haven't memorized the MS3 attract mode.

If you are hearing digital garbage then it's either a dirty cart slot or broken trace.
