Edge of Tomorrow - Really enjoyed it.
I'm reading the book first before I watch it. So far the book is pretty good.
I absolutely loved tyrannosaur and I think it's a pretty underrated movie. I've actually been meaning to rewatch it.Looks great, I've added it to the 'to watch' pile. James Caan is always good.
Just finished watching Tyrannosaur. It is Paddy Considine's directorial debut. It's got that dark, English drama thing going for it and reminded me of This is England. The acting is superb!
I don't know if I can actually rate this, since I haven't been able to sit through all of it even after 5 grueling sessions.
Argento's Dracula
This is maybe the most depressing movie I have ever tried to watch. I keep turning it off after a few minutes because it hurts too much to look at. Has anyone here seen it all the way through?
Now, I know that Argento's recent movies have run on the disappointing side, but this is a whole other level of suck. Everything about it is amateurish and hacky. The production value is about on par with a high school play, the CG effects are first gen PS2 at best, and the acting is below the level of casting couch porn. And the script. Sweet Buddha, the script.
Anyways, I give it an F along with zero stars out of five.
Weird coincidence. I just rewatched it on netflix 2 days ago. I actually like it more each time I see it. For what they did with the budget they had, it's dang impressive.Dredd
-seen it multiple times and it's still awesome
Finally got around to watching "Hesher". I saw previews for this way back when it came out, but forgot about it for years. Went looking for movies at a local video place and saw it, rented it, enjoyed it. The plot reminded me of that 80's movie "Down and Out In Beverely Hills", at face value. Basically, the story of a degenerate, homeless Metalhead coming into a broken family's home and fixing it up... sorta. Natalie Portman plays this nerdy cashier girl... only she's way too cute to be completely nerdy. Lots of anger(and a bit of melodrama) in this film... but it wasn't overdone. Anyways, I liked it. I recommend it to anybody who liked Ghost World.
Would have been way better with Portman nudity....

It pisses me off that it's considered a "failure", damn it everything about this movie is great especially as you said the budget they had. That action scene with the crooked Judges is film greatness
It was pretty much the Dredd film fans have been wanting since the late 70's, I loved that they were even able to work in the gallows humor the series is known for like the nonchalant mopping up of corpses etc. and it didn't shy away from depicting Dredd as the glorious fascist bastard he is, a sequel seems like a pipe dream at this point but at least 2000AD has been continuing the film universe in comic form
WolfCop
So bad it's good?
This is a movie made for people like Merc, who aren't necessarily into thicky thicks.
It might be made for people like Taiso.
This is a movie that, when you think there's a plot hole, it gets fixed. It's crazy like that.
I have been drinking this evening, so this isn't a sober opinion.
