Probably because you can't find the decent games for it.

Seriously, the games are damn near impossible to track down for that system. It took me four months of constent pestering to acquire splatterhouse and truxton 2, and it was worth it! Moreover, the fm marty translation of Raiden is the best home version ever (and I own raiden project).
I love the system!

Most worthless IMO: Game Gear

It's the Virtual Boy.

That system displayed nothing but ugly shades of red, and it could dish out a royal headache as well. The games for it weren't worth a damn.

I wish the FM Towns Marty would have come out here. If it did.... that thing would've slain the Genesis and Super Nintendo. Imagine the look on Sega's faces if the Marty would've came out here with Truxton II available at launch.

Just wondering, what did you end up paying for the Marty games?

I would say for the most useless current console would definetly be the PS2. I was all hyped up when I bought my Japanese one back in March of last year, and I can honestly say I've not turned it on more than 15 times. I'm sure I'll change my ming when Metal Gear Solid 2 comes out. As far as old systems I would probablt have to go with the Jaguar. I think it had a lot of potential but no one ever supported it.

Well, most useless, i'd have to go with Game.com. Wasn't worth $.02 of the motherfucking $70 i paid for it. Please don't laugh. okay fine, laugh. lol.

The Jaguar, it didn't come close to the SNES.

The Jaguar didn't really show its supposed 64-bit power. I found my Jaguar at VGLQ for about $29 and also picked up Tempest 2000 really cheap. For that game alone, it's worth it. The Saturn T2000 may not be bad, but it has a few crucial faults compared against the real deal.

Defender 2000 isn't bad, although in 2000 mode it gets TOO manic- in the later levels, you end up watching mostly the scanner.

O.K, if nobody else is going to, I'll have to stand up for the CBS Colecovision, First console I ever had. Used to overheat and cut out if I played it for too long. Still about a million times better than the Atari! It had a GOOD version of ZAXXON! GOD I Loved that game!
Yeah, and DC is better than PS2, but hell you gotta catch them all!
Jaguar = Most Arse.
Game.com = close second.
Virtual Boy = At least you could make all your friends sick with it!
But What about that AMSTRAD thing, it was white and had about three games published for it? Anyone remember? Thats a tough one to beat!

I liked Sega CD... my two favorite games of all time were released on it for christs sake: Lunar, and Snatcher!

I vote the Phillips CD-I as the most worthless system!

Amiga 32, hands down... Although the controllers look neat!

The Jaguar at least had a few nice games,
so did the Sega CD, the Virtual Boy had a gee-whiz factor.

My vote is for the Action Max. It's a piece of crap that duped people into thinking they could play games off of their VCR back in the day. I bought one for my Dad when I was a kid for $30 at a Big Lots (just goes to show it didn't catch on when it ended up here, thank God), and it came with some game where you're a fighter pilot. You take this stupid little pistol (the only controller ever made for the system) and shoot at airplanes that flew around on the TV. Of course, the system was so falsly advertised, because it portrayed the planes blowing up when you shot them. But in reality, the planes would blow up when it came that part of the tape where it was time for them to blow up. My Dad still has that piece of junk sitting out in his garage (keeping it for sentimental value maybe?) so with a little luck, maybe it'll be a collector's item or something some day...
