Nice. I love horror latex masks ever since I was a kid, they became available over here starting from the late 70s/early 80s and cost a fortune. At first there were two distributors for them in Germany and you could only get them via mailorder. Took me months to save up for my first one which was a classic skull mask, later on I also bought a Gorilla mask which was even more uncomfortable to wear than the other ones, specially for a specs wearer like me... an ape with a pair of specs doesn't look very convincing, eh... They also had the complete Gorilla costume but it was way above my means.

Complete gorilla suit has always been baller status

I remember it was $99.99 in america 15 years ago

IIRC the early-80s price was around 250 Deutschmarks which was about $120 back in the day. With an allowance of 5 Deutschmarks a month, there was no chance I could save up for that within a sensible timeframe.

But yeah, I would have gotten costume baller status with it, no doubt. :)

I like these masks, and I understand that they are probably handmade and painted, but I just couldn't bring myself to drop that kind of cash on each one. There's no way I'd pay more than $25 shipped each.

The masks are collectibles as in after they produce their run for the monthly subscribers exclusively, they (supposedly) break the mold.....so you won't be seeing these in Halloween shops.

I was a monster kid and now an old and bitter horror fan so it's an extravagance I'm willing to pay. (kind of like paying upwards of $100 and more on over 20 year old game cartridges.);)

Received my new one for the month today:

Last one is pretty badass. Like the 1st one too. I use to drool over the high end masks as a kid. Always wanted the leather face mask.

Not bad but I liked the previous ones better. The first one looks good though, is that Gene Simmons after a month of snorting Crystal? :D

That Halloween costume looks awesome, btw. Must have been quite hot in there. :)

New Monster of the Month is a horror prop instead of a mask..(.the service is 90% masks, but they do throw in a prop every now and then.)

The Electric Chair resin replica is too celebrate the 20th anniversary of one of their first animatronics. Not as fun as a mask, but I'll use it on my desk at work as a business card holder and raise a few eyebrows....

Eventually, yes they have a finite lifespan and will start to disintegrate over time.... take care of them (keep out of direct sunlight for long periods of time, store in a cool place, and away from substances and oils that will affect the rubber latex) and were talking about 20 years give or take.
