Eversince I got my DC in late 99 I've been playing it non stop. I am more used to the dc controller than anything else. Anyway in September I got me an AES. SO far I have 7 homecarts of older games. What's stopping me from buying more games is the old skool stick. I tried really hard and I got ok with it but If I got a game like KOF etc. I would never be able to play how I wanna play.

Anyway I want to set up 2 Dreamcast controllers for my AES. Some of u think the dc pad sux but hey . .. that's what I'm used to.
My question is how much would the service cost? I know DC pads go for about 15 bux max. SO thats 30 to start. I also know Arcade! offers this. Does anybody at NG.com know how to do this? Howabout you Jeff Kurtz you're reccommended by everybody.

Somebody help me! I'm not enjoying my AES to it's full potential. After I get the controllers modded I'm out to get tons of homecarts.

Thanx for reading

Have a look at this:
http://www.gamesx.com/controldata/neocont.htm

Just open up your dc stick and run a wire from each button and four from the stick.

It's very easy, I've got 2 dc arcade sticks on my mvs/jamma rig.

(That should be from the 4 buttons you want to use, not each button;-)

I can try. I've never modded a DC controller before, but I'm sure I can.

I'm currently waiting on more of the 15 pin cords for the end of the sticks and for the controller ports. But I should be done with Nicks adapter this weekend (when the cables get here), so I will be free after that.

Modding stuff is rapidly becoming my new hobby.

One quick note about modding a DC pad. The L and R triggers are analog, along with the Tumbstick.

The L and R trigger use some sort of magnetic resistor/feedback to send signals to the controller chip. In order to modify a DC pad to fully work with a NEO, you would have to add a button. (probably to the face) for select. The D-pad would be functional, as would A,B,C,D, and start.

I sued to think like that too before I took up the challenge. Let me tell you, modifying a Genesis Six button pad (the best 6 button pad EVER). Was the most satisfying thing I have ver done (videogame related, that is).

Give it a try, you never know!

well uh.

anyone could really do it for you... but i STRONGLY RECCOMEND using a stick. you can play in the arcades that way, and combos become much easier. just give it time, sticks are the way to go.

would it be possible to use a genesis 6 button pad and splice the a & b wires and the c & d wires on the db15 cable and make it so Y and Z is so like the spliced A and B wires are connected to Y and the spliced C and D cables are connected to the Z button so in samurai shodown and other fighting games, the controller will be normal A=A B=B C=C and X=X, but y = A+B and Z = C+D so then to do a strong punch all you have to press is y and to do a strong kick you would just have to press z?

that would be amazing

It would be possible, but you would need some diodes, or else everytime you press "C"
by itself, it will act like "C" and "D" where pressed.

Sounds good Daisuke Jigen. Let me know. I don't have much money . . so I hope you have a reasonable price

Neo GML I would never sell one of these sticks. I'll still use em for shooters and beat em ups and some fighters. I got me the Neo Geo Gold System and I sure as hell am not gonna sell anything from it. If I did have a third stick I would give it to you. I'm a nice guy like that. However there would be a time when I would come to you for a favor and you could then not refuse. (Hey I'm from Brooklyn you know how it is )

I'm willing to do it for cost.If you wanna send me a DC controller, that's cool, I can take it from there. All I ask is that you pay return postage, however you want. If you want to go the send me money route, I keep all recipts (if I'm purchasing parts, and stuff) make the pad, scan the recipts, and send you back what surplus I have left. Viola! A pad for cost.

Let me know what you would like to do.

One last request. If you like it when you get it, tell your friends.

Looks like a plan bro. My email is jonrivaltribe@hotmail.com. I would rather you pick up two dc controllers in your area. I would send u the money first. It doesn't make sense for me to send controllers. My dad has a paypal account so I can give him the money and he can then . .. well u get the idea.

So u would have to add a select button huh?
I recently got AIM if u wanna discuss this further. I am BrooklynSkin83.

Let me dissect one of my DC controllers first, in order to make sure I can get it to work right. Some controllers like to have built-in diodes that like to combine signals that should not be.
