I know for a fact that Mark of the Wolves and Metal Slug 3 do not have the Neo Geo screen, they just go right to the games. What games are you putting in this thing?

I have a similar problem.

Slot 1 Real Bout Fatal Fury 2

Slot 2 Metal Slug 3

Slot 3 Waku Waku 7

Slot 4 Magical Drop 3

Everytime I boot it up I get waku waku 7 first. Damnit I want that giga power logo with the Real bout 2. That is probably the only game that boots up with the giga power. How come it is going to slot 3. Damnit all

Every game after Real Bout 2 (sometime in 1998) SNK made their games to just boot up regularly with no logo. Sux huh

Good point, if you have any non-Giga Power games in a multi-slot board, they will load first, it has to do with the addressing of the boards. However, after all games have been displayed, if any of them have a giga-power logo, it will then be shown

Hmmm, well I guess you have a different BIOS then. The screen is in each cart, well it is a call of asembly code.... The BIOS (just like in the Nintendo machines) will ask the cart for this code when starting up. I know that on a Gameboy if this code is missing, the game will not play.... anyway I am getting off the topic. Perhaps your BIOS is slightly different and does not display that screen... how old is this board, and (not to freak you out) is it an offical SNK board?

dunno how old it is, looks like its legit, this is supposed to be a non-kited machine so whatever, i think it has something to do with the fact that the people i bought it from didnt free-play it by the dip, the hotwired it and its a little wierd to me

Thats true, but it won't work for the newer games. Samurai Showdown 4 is giga power....

No matter what it will start up with an older game that shows "330 max mega" or whatever it is. If you want it to start with a giga power, you will have to have a Real Bout 2 and the rest of the games have to be newer, since real bout 2 is the ONLY game that starts up with the giga power logo. Just try running Real bout 2 with no other games in it and try :) Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, I have never seen a soft dip like that either... autobot, you have a path for us to follow to get there?

I get that green matrix like thing when I soft reset after setting the dips. However, when I hard reset (power off and on) I get the start up logo...it sounds to me like you might have a loose connection on whatever cable runs to the test switch on the jama harness...maybe it for a second hops into the dip setup..then realizing it shouldn't boots up the game...thus bypassing the start-up...

Well it's a theory at least

A Hard Reset is flipping whatever switch you have on your cab that controls power...or failing that unplugging and replugging the unit in (if for some odd reason you have continuous power)
