Metal Slug 2 High Score attempt thread

I've been working on my Metal Slug 2 game after being away from it for far to long.

Lets get some high score competition or some game strategy going.

Right now I feel that I can get to stage 4 without dying.

I'm not holding back and knifing yet, nor am I stalling at bosses for POWs to come around.

So far my score is around 1.5 mil but I haven't got a good run.

I know i've scored higher, and i'm embarrassed to admit I JUST figured out the genie trick on Mission 2

the genie trick can bee seen on youtube. it can be risky, but vital for score.

topher, i'm close to you performance wise. i usually just about clear the mission 4 boss on 1c.

Died on stage 4 boss
Screwed up and self destructed the Slug on stages 2 &3 bosses (actually killed bosses with the slug self destruct which really pissed me off that I lost those points so close to the end of the rounds).

Because you don't get the big bonus points when you don't finish with the slug.

Just saw the genie trick on youtube. I was amazed that the dude knew that trick but missed out on so many others...

Anyway, I didn't know about that one so I'll have a new score to post in a little while.

Why not? Seriously, I enjoy the game immensely as a 1 player game. For 2P Slug action it would be 1 or X. I like the game for what it is.

Plus I'm laid up due to recent surgery, why not waste my days away doped up and playing some games.

Anyway, ran through the 2nd level a few times to get the genie trick down. Should be posting a 2+million score this evening.

For the High Score Thread and Wiki, we always use the Level 4 setting (MVS) and no continues. I think I got my high score on the Wiki when I still had MS2 on my CDZ. Don't think I ever got it for my MVS so I hope my score holds up.

Knifing is required to get the really high scores and beating as many bosses as you can while you still have the slug. Slightly off topic, but MNK and I went back and forth so much for the Metal Slug X high score.

I just started in on MS2 to grab the #3 wiki spot away from talks2wall.

His SamSho scores are untouchable for me right now so it will
have to be done with MS2.

My best run is 2.2mil right now, but to get
#1 away from T2W it looks like you need to 1 life the first five stages
with high POW and Slug finishes.
