Collector's Edition to contain half-scale replica of Snake's bionic arm along with other goodies and DLC items, Day 1 Edition to contain physical map and DLC.

Following yesterday's early leak, Konami has confirmed MGSV: The Phantom Pain's September 1 release date on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. The Steam version of the game is launching on September 15. The publisher also revealed details of the Day 1 and Collector's Editions of the game, and promised that the game's dedicated online mode, Metal Gear Online, will be live at launch.

The Collector's Edition, which is set to retail for $99 in the US and £99 in the UK, comes with a bevvy of physical items, including a half-scale replica of Snake's bionic arm, a "collectible" Steel Book, a behind-the-scenes documentary and collection of trailers on Blu-ray, a map, and unique packaging. It will also contain a bunch of DLC items, ranging from weapons like the "Adam-ska Special Handgun", through to new costumes for Snake, and yes, three different types of cardboard boxes.

Those who fork over $59.99 (£59.99) for the Day 1 Edition of the game will only be treated to the physical map, as well as a reduced selection of DLC. Those picking up the PC version on Steam at launch will also have access to the DLC.

Love me some MGS. I liked Ground Zero so I'll probably pre-order this from Amazon.

All that shit in that list: why I don't take modern gaming seriously.

And I don't. I treat it as disposable. Unlike my older stuff...

When I was a kid I used to pretend I was John Connor and would re-enact the scenes from T2 w/ the Terminator hand using my NES Power Glove...which was a little lame/awkward.

But now when I get this LE I can do it all over again - as a 35 year old bald dude...and it won't be weird at all. Awesome!!

Can't fucking wait for this one, I played GZ on Steam and loved it. Having the game on PC has made it so much easier and with the increased lighting and effects.. man can't get much better than this. Psyched!

I'm all over Metal Gear SE's (I even have a Big Boss PSP) but I'm not really sure I want a robot arm.

Just waiting for the inevitable MG1 and 2 remakes.

I mean, not that I'll ever play them. But it'll be nice to look at.

Until then fuck the MG series, I guess.

Its always been disposable.

EDIT: Ha, didn't see I replied to a months old post (and had already posted in this thread)

This game will be another title pushing me towards upgrading console generations.
